Publisher's summary

He's big.
He's dumb.
He's heavily armed.
He's hilarious!

For the first time in one audiobook set, this box set collects Seasons 1-3 of the popular Bubba the Monster Hunter series, from the author of The Black Knight Chronicles and Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter.

Robert "Bubba" Brabham never wanted to hunt monsters. He mostly wanted to drink beer, hunt deer, and chase women, like every other giant redneck in the world. But life interfered, and Bubba found himself holster-deep in the family business: monster hunting.

Now he's the Southeastern Regional Hunter for the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and along with his technical wizard and best friend Skeeter, his Knight Templar liaison Uncle Father Joe (because he's Skeeter's uncle, and he's a priest) and his...girlfriend (?) Agent Amy Hall of DEMON, a shady government agency with a ridiculous name just so it can spell out something cool, Bubba has to save the world from the things that go bump in the night!

Just as soon as he's done with his beer. And maybe after one more lap dance.

Fans of Tucker & Dale versus Evil, Cabin in the Woods, or Ash vs the Evil Dead will love this comedy/horror/urban fantasy collection, with three full collections in one box set!

This collection includes:

  • Scattered, Smothered, & Chunked: Bubba the Monster Hunter Season One
  • Grits, Guns, & Glory: Bubba the Monster Hunter Season Two
  • Wine, Women, & Song: Bubba the Monster Hunter Season Three

This is not Bubba Shackelford

I originally picked this up because it was monster hunter and Bubba who I assumed was Bubba Shackleford of MHI. Boy was I wrong.

First thing that bothered me was the voice acting. Though there were several “characters” in the story they all sounded the same which made it hard to get I to the story.

Now the story... It was decent but I didn’t need to be reminded every 10 mins about 400lbs of angry redneck with a big Johnson. I mean this was repeated several times in the first book to the point it became annoying.

There are rules to monster hunting that were violated and they bugged the hell out of me.
1. Humans cannot beat a master vampire in hand to hand combat
2. Humans can’t beat a werewolf in hand to hand combat.
3. Zombie bites should always turn humans into zombies

Personally wouldn’t recommend this book and will be requesting a refund.

So bad, and so many levels of bad.

I see the author as a school kid trying to write Larry Correia fan fiction for a remedial English class. He is short a few pages of the teacher's requirement, so he repeats himself and then throws in a meaningless "folksy" metaphor every other sentence to stretch things out.

Once per chapter, in first person, he mentions that his truck is a Ford F250, and I don't know why.
Three or four times per chapter he lists his height and weight (6'5" and 330 lbs), and how scary looking and intimidating he is as if we didn't get that image at his first self description.
If you forget about his shoe or penis size, don't worry, he mentions it every ten minutes.

This collection could be a great set of short stories.
It's a fun and creative concept that should have been stopped or corrected by a quality editor.
Maybe a skilled co-author could fix this mess.

The narration fell flat. The characters sounded far too similar, and having one generic hick accent, it was difficult to build a mental image of, or differentiate the different characters. Maybe John Solo read the script and figured it was a lost cause and didn't try very hard.

I mention it once, and only once:
As a genuine 6'5" 310 lb desert rat Redneck, no male Redneck of any kind would ever have a ponytail.

Disappointing

I read all the reviews on this book and expected a light, funny story. The first few chapters were ok, until I listened to enough to realize that every chapter was the same story line just replacing new monsters / bad guys with the ones from the previous story. It also read more as a group of short stories rather than an actual full well written story. I became bored with the tedium and monotony and ended up trading the book after only a few hours of listening. Those hours are time I’ll never recoup, what a waste.

A little too much junior level humor for me.

Everything about was just OK. I think the target audience is for the Junior High, High School kids. I made through about 1/3 of the book, and decided to hang it up. It not that its that horrible, just there are many better options for Monster Hunter Entertainment out there. Just my 2 cents. The Narrator might be decent with better material.

So much fun!

I have 200 hundred books in my library and this is the first time I've ever been motivated to leave a review. The books and narrator were an absolute blast. Buy this book! I promise you won't regret it!

Entertaining and Funny!

Hooked on his southern charm, Bubba has become my Redneck side kick driving down the road. I actually work in the town where Bubba grew up and hearing of his adventures keeps me in stitches.

Yep. I sleep better at night just knowing he keeps the ghosties and ghoulies off my porch. Can’t wait to listen to more of his adventures. Love you, Bubba, and give ole Skeeter a big hug from me!

like someone published a really bad MHI fanfic.

The humor was crass, characters boring, had little plot to speak of. perhaps I've been spoiled by better urban fantasy.

Insulting

I didn’t even make it 2 hrs into the book before I turned it off.
Never again will this author make it to my shelves.
