Publisher's summary

And so it has come to this.

The star cluster is awash with the blood of those whose lives have been spent by two men maneuvering fleets like pieces across a chessboard.

Only one man can come out on top: Thatcher or Moll.

But when a victor finally emerges, what will it mean? What solace can truly be taken by those left over, those whose very lives have been wrecked by a war of unrivaled carnage?

Surely someone will be left to pick up the pieces. Someone with the vision to make all of this mean something.

For Thatcher's part, he can only do what he was made to do.

Win. At all costs.

Spacers, Part 5 contains Book Nine: Dead Ahead through to the end of Book 10: Storm Break.

Interesting and worth checking out

Any sci-fi fan interested in space travel will enjoy the series. Narrated exceptionally well !
If there’s another series from this author I’ll be checking it out soon.

The ending a big let down!

The age old plot where good prevails over evil is a sacred tradition. Reversing the tables at the end of ten books wasn't the crime. The crime was not giving the reader a plausible backstory.

The ending!

Fantastic series, made my rides to work a lot more enjoyable. Almost crashed my car on that ending though🤔. Appreciated your authors note and that you care about your listeners.

Awesome series, weak ending

I loved the whole series, it did kind of get slow and a bit repetitive in the middle of the books but the writing was still engaging enough for me to continue. Knowing it was coming to an end I was waiting on the edge of my seat for what was to come but it just got weird. I won’t post spoilers but honestly the wind down to the end and the end itself seemed like a let down, characters that where built up the whole time where just left hanging. I don’t know, very anti climatic and almost a bit of a hand wringing of the series. I would still listen to all these again and will for sure get more books but maybe next time listen to the early readers, they where correct from what you stated in your notes about the ending.

Ending

I really enjoyed the first eight books. But the ending of this series was honestly a complete failure!! If you read the first seven, don’t waste your hard-earned money buying the concluding books! It’s better to let your own imagination make its own ending. I’m so mad. And the writer using such a flimsy excuse for the ending, is laughable. Don’t waste your time, or your money.

Ending very delusional

I think the author here is talking about people’s pride, yet at the same time, the author himself is guilty of what he cues the character of doing. If I wanted a philosophy lesson I can go somewhere else I don’t look for it in my science fiction books I read.

Twilight Zone ending

Thank you for the “Ending Explanation” , but for anyone around for Twilight Zone it wasn’t necessary.
9 1/2 books buildup, then POW, Rod Serling steps out and drops some cosmic metaphor.
Thanks Scott.
Like or dislike the ending, the performance was top notch. Don’t shoot the messenger. His delivery was spectacular.

Such a build up to crash

Love the story but the ending falls itself flat. No closure of any kind. Like a multiverse of madness and GoT mix up.

Glad I listened to all TEN books

Excellent narration. A lot of people are complicating and whining about the ending, but I’m.not sure why. Maybe they live in a world where the hood guy turned pretty bad guy, turns back into the hood guy and triumphs over literally “untriumphable” odds. (Not a real word I know) but personally I enjoyed the ending. Was it surprising? Yup. But it wasn’t just a flippant oh I don’t know how to end a book situation. The book ended with a deeper sense of hope and redemption than could have been penned in any other even space fiction ending. Don’t let those clowns turn you away. It’s a long but good we’ll thought out story. Yeah I wanted to throat punch Tad Thatcher in about 90% of the book. Aside from that I loved it.

Poor ending that makes the 10 book series worth little

The ending was in poor taste. The author has reasons for this that as a reader I cannot agree with.
