Okay, so I am reviewing this after being given the box set for review. I did not pay for it.

I really enjoyed the first three books. Solid villains, good character building, emotional tension was just right and it was overall solid and enjoyable.

Mech Wars? It was okay. Kind of a slog to get through at times, especially with Roach, but it was a decent story even if...all the main characters are not good people. I might have enjoyed it more if I had taken a break between the first trilogy and Mech Wars.

Ixen Legacy: I nearly DNF'd just for one plot hole the size of a carrier group. Here it seems Bartlett lost the plot. The ultimate villains? Both lame AND a major plot hole that just gets handwaved away. The internal politics? Laughably trite in trying to play a moderate. Set up badly and unrealistically, caricatures of political points from the university students OR big bad "leftist" tyranny from people corrupted by aliens rather than looking at politics through a mirror.

First three books are good, next four books are okay, final three are...tolerable

I really got into these books! I enjoyed each section. They were very thought provoking as well. Thanks for putting them all together for purchase.

Enthralling

I don’t think that global peace or macro focus on species level enhancement, development or sustainability will happen in the next several lifetimes but there must be a focus on curtailing the corruption and greed of profit driven, “at all costs”, models in society. Not because profit is inherently evil or all corporations and businesses have nefarious intentions. It is however unreasonable to assume their best intentions. This story is well supported and incredibly important for the times we live in where everyday there is a growing movement of people deciding that history dictates future, that the people of now are guilty because of the people of then. Phenomenal work by the author to show the creep, perverse and pervasiveness of social justice and party with corruption corporate greed and power agendas.

Incredibly Relevant.

Little to much corporate hate. but who knows these days. Series at least seems topical to me
