Publisher's summary

Paranormal investigator Lacey Fitzpatrick and medium Sam Firecloud are making quite a name for themselves. When a TV network offers to feature them on a popular ghost series, they realize they could dispel misconceptions and bring credibility to their work. However, filming their process is more troublesome and complicated than they knew.

Their goal to research and release the ghostly tenants of a haunted bed and breakfast in Malibu is at odds with the studio’s penchant for sensationalism. On top of that, Sam finds his connection to one of the ghosts to be painfully personal, and he and Lacey struggle to keep their work, their relationship and their newfound stardom from unraveling.

Making a TV show?

ghosts, murder-investigation, television, California, Navajo, supernatural

In spite of being part of a series, there's enough background interspersed in the story to keep it from being an issue. Well, except that you'd want to read the others anyway. Sam is the medium and is very serious about helping those trapped into a bad situation by the manner of death. Lacey is his research partner, ex homicide cop, and his significant other. This case is different from those they've had before because it is initiated by a TV show rather than a homeowner. Lots of difficult situations and a really good plot even if some subject matter is rather awful. An excellent read!
I have audio with Laura Wilson as the excellent narrator.

Terrific

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the seventh book in the Lacey Fitzpatrick and Sam Firecloud mystery series. It is a standalone book with no cliffhanger ending. However, this series is so enjoyable and the main characters develop as the series evolves that I highly recommend you start the series from the beginning.

I think this one is my favorite so far. I really enjoyed how Lacey and Sam interacted with the TV producers and their shenanigans in creating "reality TV." I find these two main characters to be so relatable and so likeable that I really enjoy spending time with them on each of their adventures. Each book in this series has been interesting and entertaining.

The narrator, Laura Wilson, is the same narrator for the entire series. She is absolutely terrific.

Nice novella for a rainy day.

This was a great light read for a rainy day. Characters are likable and believable & even though it has to do with the supernatural very grounded. The narrator was great.
