Navajo, private-investigators, ghosts, ex-cop, investigation, family, family-dynamics, AA, addictive-behaviors, alcohol-issues, spirits, supernatural*****
Former LAPD detective Lacey Fitzpatrick and her new husband and business partner Sam Firecloud are off to the family in Arizona at the request of Sam's brother. A friend of his wound up dead at the bottom of the canyon and neither Sam's brother nor the widow can reconcile the finding of accident with what they know about the victim.
Sam has spent his life as a medium with the dead whether Navaho or not and has changed from construction work to being a Private Investigator with Lacey since their encounters with murder victims while Lacey was still with the LAPD.
The man who died was a friend to all, especially his fellows in the local Alcoholics Anonymous group. Sam is able to find the truth and share it with the family, Tribal Police, and the AA group. Solid investigating with help from the victim once the true location of the incident was located.
Another excellent story in this fascinating series.
I prefer the audio, and Laura Wilson proves her abilities as a voice actor once again.
