About this listen

Good girls keep quiet. But quiet girls can't stay silent forever - and the consequences are sure to make some noise.

When Alex arrives in Provincetown to patch things up with his new wife, Mina, he finds an empty wine glass in the sink, her wedding ring on the desk, and a string of questions in her wake. The police believe that Mina, a successful romance author, simply left, their marriage crumbling before it truly began.

But what Alex finds in their empty cottage points him toward a different reality: Mina has always carried a secret. And now she's disappeared.

In his hunt for the truth, Alex comes across Layla, a young woman with information to share who may hold the key to everything his wife has kept hidden. A strange, quiet girl whose missing memories may break them all.

To find his missing wife, Alex must face what Layla has forgotten. And the consequences are anything but quiet.

This is the first time I have felt compelled to add a review. The characters were real and I felt every nuance of their fears, anger and love. Don’t miss this one if you enjoy a heartfelt sigh at the end of a book.

I found this book to be both intriguing and an interesting listen! I will say that sometimes the male narrator was a little shouty (especially towards the end), but obviously he was communicating situations with an immense amount of emotion.

I liked that I didn’t know for awhile who the girl was, and that the storyline brought it together and it was a surprise. Good suspense with that. And I liked that it was a non traditional ending. Well done!

Intriguing

I thought this was a good book. Lots of twists and turns. The narrator did a good job with voice changes. I did have to listen at 1.2. He did speak very slowly. The first 30 minutes I didn’t know if I would get through it. But I am glad that I powered through and turned up the speed. I enjoyed the story. Kept me up until midnight to finish, ruining my sleep score!
