Publisher's summary

In this historic recording Eknath Easwaran, who taught meditation and spiritual living for over 40 years, reads his selection of life-affirming writings from the saints, sages, and scriptures of the Christian, Hindu, Sufi, Jewish, Buddhist, and Taoist traditions. This collection includes passages from Easwaran’s translations of the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and the Dhammapada. Easwaran’s reading is sonorous and deep, slowing down the mind and drawing us into a world of timeless wisdom where our worries and concerns fall back into perspective.

Listen to these passages for daily inspiration, for the insights they give into other spiritual traditions, for the light they throw on how to live, and for the deep transformation they can bring through Easwaran’s method of passage meditation. Uplifting and lyrical, sometimes startlingly practical, these inspirational passages all express the same unifying truth – that we are spiritual beings, with limitless resources of love, energy, and wisdom, intended to make our contribution to our communities and our world.

Passages for Comfort, Serenity, and Strength

For over 30 years, this collection of sacred passages has been a rock in my foundation. I have the book, the cassettes, the CDs, and now the Audible book. My only disappointment in the Audible book is that it is abridged excerpts and not the entire book. It is still worth having, but if you enjoy this, you will want to have the book too.
It is read by the author, who is a revered teacher of a spiritual program. Although he is from India, his collection includes many Christian passages, as well as other faith paths. Although Sri Easwaran is passed, he lives on in the volumes of books he authored, and his spiritual program.
I will keep this on all my devices for regular listening, especially my bookmarked favorites.

very inspiring and thought provoking.

to hear so much wisdom in one place was uplifting. I liked the narration although it took me a bit to get used to the author"s accent. however, he made up for being a bit difficult to understand are times by his deep familiarity with the passages and their meaning.

Sublime!

Really profound and beautiful as are all his own writings as well. I'd happily recommend any one of them along with this collection.
