Publisher's Summary

"Our biggest fear," says poet and Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, "is that we will become nothing when we die. If we think that we cease to exist when we die, we have not looked very deeply at ourselves."

It is possible to live every day without being afraid of what happens when we die. Through a close examination of who we are, how we exist, and how we live, we can conquer our fear to live a freer and happier life. Through stories and lucid teachings, Thich Naht Hanh brings peace of mind to a difficult subject, and shows is how to live a happier life, free of fear.

"Mesmerizing, Insightful. I am in Awe!"

I could not put this book down. It gave me so much insight and helped in easing my fear of so many things in life including death. I was raised Catholic and I always had so many questions. This book simplified and answered many of those questions. Thank you for this blessing.

    "Comforting Indeed"

I am fairly new to meditation and Buddhist teachings. I found this book to be full of useful, accessible metaphors to begin understanding the teachings. I also found the tone to be full of kindness and compassion. I look forward to listening to it again.

    "simple and Powerful"

the concepts presented in here are things that we all know but we all lose sight of. the practices that are presented here help us to keep these insights firmly in mind and allow us to practice in our daily life the things that lead us away from suffering and toward genuine happiness.

"Not the best of Thay's teachings, but still good."
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe. For me, Thay's words on death and the fear of it were good, but I was expecting to have more of a revelation on it. To be fair, this was my own fault, and not Thay's. It would depend on where the seeker is coming from on this topic.

Was No Death, No Fear: Comforting Wisdom for Life worth the listening time?

    Yes.
