Story
What is karma? Most people understand karma as a balance sheet of good and bad deeds, virtues and sins. The mechanism that decrees that we cannot evade the consequences of our own actions. In reality, karma has nothing to do with reward and punishment. Karma simply means action: your action, your responsibility. It isn’t some external system of crime and punishment, but an internal cycle generated by you. Accumulation of karma is determined only by your intention and the way you respond to what is happening to you.

Story
Sadhguru dvelves on a variety of subjects, ranging from the concepts of time, quantum mechanics, different parts of the mind, religion, and meditation. This book is laced with humor and incisive logic, and moves towards an interesting climax where it is acknowledged that science and mysticism meet at a certain point. Exploring the possibilities and the pitfalls of the mind, Sadhguru lays bare the deceptive drama of the mind that, as he says, “can take you to great heights” as well as “render you to the depths of hell within yourself.”

In this book of key spiritual teachings from unpublished discourses, the great Advaita Master, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, teaches us that we are not limited to the body. Because of our mistaken body identity, we feel separate from what we truly are. Our identification with the body and mind subjects us to endless cycles of pleasure and pain, desire and fear, which cause us to search beyond ourselves for that which we believe we lack.

Publisher's summary
Achieve absolute well-being with the classical science of yoga
The practice of what is commonly known as hatha yoga is but one of eight branches of the body of knowledge that is yoga. Yoga is a sophisticated system of self-empowerment that is capable of harnessing and activating inner energies in such a way that your body and mind function at their optimal capacity. It is a means to create inner situations exactly the way you want them, turning you into the architect of your own joy. A yogi lives life in this expansive state, and in this transformative book Sadhguru tells the story of his own awakening from a boy with an unusual affinity for the natural world to a young daredevil who crossed the Indian continent on his motorcycle. He relates the moment of his enlightenment on a mountaintop in southern India, where time stood still and he emerged radically changed.
Teachings and tools for a life of joy
As Sadhguru explains, the term guru means, "Dispeller of darkness, someone who opens the door for you. As a guru, I have no doctrine to teach, no philosophy to impart, no belief to propagate. And that is because the only solution for all the ills that plague humanity is self-transformation. Self-transformation means that nothing of the old remains. It is a dimensional shift in the way you perceive and experience life." The wisdom distilled in this accessible, profound, and engaging audiobook offers you time-tested tools that are fresh, alive, and radiantly new. Inner Engineering presents a revolutionary way of thinking about our humanity and the opportunity to achieve nothing less than a life of joy.

General interest in Buddhism has never been higher. The story and teachings of a man who lived 2,500 years ago have a special resonance for us today, perhaps because he taught a way of life that was not based on belief in a creator god but rather on personal experience. "Test my words for yourself," he said. But what lies behind those distinctive images of the Buddha, seated with unshakeable poise, with eyes half-closed and a slight smile? Jinananda, a Western-born Buddhist, divides the subject into the Three Jewels....

According to legend, when the founder of Zen Buddhism was asked about the main principle of his holy teaching, he replied that there was "nothing holy about it!" Now, a millennium and a half later, Tim Burkett reveals how and why the wisdom of nonholiness is the key to a joyful heart. You don't need to go looking for something sacred - the happiness you seek is right where you are.

Uncover the core of goodness within. Love, compassion, meaning, hope, and freedom from fear are not qualities we need to acquire. We simply need to uncover what we already have. "Original goodness" is Eknath Easwaran’s phrase for this spark of divinity hidden in every one of us, regardless of our personal liabilities or past mistakes. Commenting on the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount, Easwaran shows how this spark of divinity can energize our lives - beginning with a simple method of meditation that gradually removes the conditioning that hides our native goodness.

This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Best-selling author and renowned Zen teacher Steve Hagen penetrates the most essential and enduring questions at the heart of the Buddha's teachings: How can we see the world in each moment, rather than merely as what we think, hope, or fear it is? How can we base our actions on reality, rather than on the longing and loathing of our hearts and minds? How can we live lives that are wise, compassionate, and in tune with reality? And how can we separate the wisdom of Buddhism from the cultural trappings and misconceptions that have come to be associated with it?

What is karma? Most people understand karma as a balance sheet of good and bad deeds, virtues and sins. The mechanism that decrees that we cannot evade the consequences of our own actions. In reality, karma has nothing to do with reward and punishment. Karma simply means action: your action, your responsibility. It isn’t some external system of crime and punishment, but an internal cycle generated by you. Accumulation of karma is determined only by your intention and the way you respond to what is happening to you.

Exploring the possibilities and the pitfalls of the mind, Sadhguru lays bare the deceptive drama of the mind that, as he says, “can take you to great heights” as well as “render you to the depths of hell within yourself.”

A Profound Exploration of Life!!!
Any additional comments?
Sadhguru is a yogi and mystic with a deep understanding and realization of the nature of creation. His insightful perspective challenges us to look at life in ways that break through our conditioned views, while offering a scientific approach and technology for transforming ourselves into our highest possibility.
I am an engineer by profession and when I first heard the term "Inner Engineering" I thought it sounded like a stretch to apply the term "engineering" to aspects of life that are internal, experiential and subjective... but I was a mistaken. My initial perspective was coming from a limited understanding and ignorance of the profound depth of the ancient science that was being explored and offered by Sadhguru.
In this book Sadhguru begins by sharing his story of deep experiential realization of life, and how that experience has transformed him and everything he has done ever since. Utilizing all aspects of who we are (body, mind, emotion and energy) and their direct connection, he offers technology and methods to develop and transform ourselves into our highest possibilities.

Phenomenal Teachings
At first, some of the things may seem farfetched, but you really need to keep an opened mind. The teachings and principles that he talks about is truly eye opening, because if you practice any inner meditation philosophies it's so simple. Yet the way our society has programmed us makes it a bit difficult.
There is a lot in this book. It will need a second go over (for me). He doesn't necessarily go quick, but he goes over many things in many ways.
