I have truly learned what a happy dog should act like. I thought I knew my dogs until reading this book. I now will make it my everyday job to give my dogs a more satisfieing happy lives. Thank you Cesar.

Not what I expected

Perhaps I should have read the intro more closely … I like Caesar a lot, but this book wasn't really worth my time.

Excelentes ideas y prácticas. Ha sido muy útil para trabajar con perros dominantes y gigantes como aquellos con los que convivo: Mastín Francés y Rhodesian. Como dice el libro: démosle al próximo Presidente un Mastín o un Rhodesian si puede controlar uno con energía calmada y asertiva, podrá con la nación.

Good info, enjoyable narration

Read this in preparation for getting my first dog, it has already helped me become a better mother. Lots of good examples.

Great Info but no Caesar

I liked this book and it was full of good information but was not as entertaining or exciting as the book Caesar read himself. I miss his English and his expression. This book is far removed from his presentation and it makes the delivery dry and less passionate. Too bad.

much-needed information

the whole book was excellent. very useful the last chapter. audiobook is just what I needed. suggest to readers with audiobook jump to last chapter. then go through the entire book. you'll get much-needed rules right away and understand the book a little more. again excellent training. I've got a German shepherd pound puppy that's 2 years old and 65 lb. little hard to handle but we have a labrador that's been with us for a number of years and she's helping her out. thanks Cesar!

Great Dog Book

Millan offers sensible, practical advice for dog-owners. The basic message I got out of this book is that dogs respond best to a balanced, assertive leader who can provide a structured and orderly environment, and the book provides lots of insight on how to accomplish this. By controling the kind of "energy" you present to your dog, and giving the correct amounts of exercise, discipline and affection you can solve many problems.

I have a 2 year old lab-pyrenees cross with a LOT of energy. Since reading this book and applying much of the advice I have noticed significant improvements in his leash and off-leash walking behaviour, jumping, whining and yard escapes.

I highly recommend this book to all dog owners (current or potential).
