Wonderful book if you are getting a new puppy!

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Raise the Perfect Dog to be better than the print version?

I love to be able to listen in the car on the way to work.

What does John H. Mayer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He did a very good job! Loved the voices he used talking from the dog's perspective.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to this book four times, and each time I learn something new!

A great primer on dog psychology

This is the world's "go to" for understanding dog psychology. This is a must-read for any dog owner. It is NOT a training book. It is rather a manual to how your dog's brain and psychology work - which will set you up for success in training.

I would definitely recommend this to everyone that wants to raise a dog.

Great listen!!

Such a great amount of information, really helps thinking like a Momma dog, vs the emotions ee have and impart on our animals, that they don't really feel. Our 4.5 month old Daisy, golden retriever is responding so well to the techniques I've used that I've learned in this book. She c is, so much smarter than I ever gave her credit for as a puppy.

This is Caesar's best book so far.

his is Caesar's best book so far, it gives Precise actions to do at each state of a puppy growth. also how important it is to find out where your dog was born and who owned them, and did they do the right steps before you get your pup.

Dog gone good! lol<br />

My eyes have been opened to really see what a dogs life is about. We often try to humanize them and Cesar will get you back on the right track. Thank you Sir I wish I would have read this before I got my first dog! I pray our new German Shepherd pups will have a stable pack that will help them to become the best dogs in the World and their future litters as well.

Great puppy training book

Of the six audibles that I have listened to on the subject, this book is my favorite. It is full of great advice for your puppy’s psychological health (as opposed to just training your dog to perform tricks using food). Well worth the purchase.

Interesting but not exactly realistic

I acquired this book in the hopes of learning more about dog psychology and building a closer bond with my current dog. The experiment he conducts is under completely perfect circumstances. All milk mannered dogs from breeders and I feel like it would have been better to get dogs from shelters or at different ages and show that even if the pup has had a rougher start it can still be raised to be a great dog. Most people adopt or buy from pet stores and don’t always get puppies. I guess I just would have liked to see more variation on
The dogs because the only thing that was different about them was they were different breeds.

Very good value

Any additional comments?

Let me say right off that this is not a simple &quot;how to&quot; guide. This is a window into understanding how a dog thinks. I've read other dog training books including &quot; For the Love of a Dog&quot; and this struck the hardest. I say this because it doesn't give you a set method. This is a book on teaching and like teaching children or adults even, every individual is different and requires a different approach. What this book gives you is a deeper understanding of how dogs thinks and from there you can and should develop your own approach. Cesar is lucky in knowing to choose mid-energy dogs, but the tools provided in this book is also perfectly applicable with higher energy dogs. The only difference is that it may take a tad bit more time with higher energy pus or dogs. Don't be discouraged. The energy thing really does work by the way.

It is always a joy to learn more about dogs.
