A real embrace indicates an intimate level of closeness. It's not a high five or a handshake. The best kind of embrace is when someone we know deeply loves us flings their arms wide open and pulls us in close. Our hearts were made for this kind of love and security but for many of us, we know more about the pain of heartbreak and fear than the unconditional love for which we were created. In Embraced, Lysa shares her own struggles and heartbreaks while pointing to the Ultimate Embrace: God opening his arms wide on Calvary through Jesus so that he could pull us close.
LysaTer Keurst knows what it means to walk in faith, starting from the cry she uttered years ago - "How do I take my broken life and allow God to use it for his glory?" - to her current position as president of Proverbs 31 Ministry. Lysa's new book is filled with stories, Scripture, and encouragement for listeners to discover the deeper truths of God. As a bonus, Lysa has provided a Bible study section to help listeners apply the principles in What Happens When Women Walk in Faith.
Women's lives are more hectic today than ever; the demands of child-rearing, work, ministry, and marriage can drain women of energy and enthusiasm. What they need is order; they need a plan for prioritizing what's important and sticking to it. Lysa TerKeurst has created Living Life on Purpose to answer this obvious need. It is a Bible study that helps women design a life plan based on seven main principles of the Proverbs 31 woman.
A truly fulfilling marriage involves two people focusing on each other's needs rather than their own. Lysa TerKeurst, president of The Proverbs 31 Ministry, has written a practical guide for all spouses that will open their eyes to the needs, desires, and longings of the others. She offers eight essential criteria for capturing the heart of your spouse, with creative tips on how to accomplish them.
If success is defined in the eye of the beholder, who are you letting behold your success? Nicki Koziarz is confronting the comparison question: Why her? Through two striving sisters in the Bible, Nicki uncovered six truths we need to hear when trying to measure up leaves you falling behind. This audiobook can help you stop staring at her success and find satisfaction in yours.
The enemy wants us to feel rejected, left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ's powerful love. In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences with rejection - from the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father to the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over.

God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it! Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how.

You can reach your healthy weight goal - and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose.
Learn to find and play the role God wants most for you to play, not the ones you feel pressured into playing for the sake of others or even our sense of accomplishment and worth. Most of us spend a lot of our lives figuring out when to say yes and when to say no. How to manage our time, reduce stress, do our best for our families, find a little space for "me". But we don't find space for our souls until we learn to step past the yes and no of daily decisions and seek a third option: the best yes. The best yes is the choice that shapes all our other choices.
What's a woman to do if her life is not taking shape the way that she thought that it would? What happens when she looks at herself in the mirror, lingering just a little longer than usual, and realizes that she no longer recognizes the person staring back at her? What does she do when she sees that somehow her life has drifted away from all her original hopes, dreams, or plans? Speaker, blogger, and writer Chrystal Evans Hurst wrote this book because she was that woman.
Do you feel that the ability to hear God's voice is for other people and not for you? Is it only for people who lived in biblical times? Not at all! The god who loved you enough to die for you loves you enough to talk to you. And wherever you are in your spiritual walk, God will find a way to speak to you in a way you will understand.
Perhaps one of the biggest issues all women face is their own insecurity. Beth Moore, one of today's most admired and trusted Christian writers, wants women to be free from the insecurity trap. So Long, Insecurity will strike a chord with women everywhere, as Beth speaks truth into the lives of listeners, showing them how to deal with their innermost fears, rediscover their God-given dignity, and develop a whole new perspective.
You have an enemy...and he's dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What's more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn't general or generic, not a one-size-fits-all. It's specific. Personalized. Targeted. So this audiobook is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works.
Got an impossible situation? The anxiety it brings can wake you in the middle of a needed night’s sleep and then stalk you in the middle of broad daylight. It can sneak up on you and cast a cloak of fear and concern over your shoulders that you can’t seem to shake no matter how hard you try. It can take you down. Squash all hope. Stop you in your tracks. Impossible. Impenetrable. Unchangeable. Maybe so...until God gets involved.
Lysa TerKeurst, mother of five and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, knows about the bouts of "mommy stress" that come with parenting and managing a home and a life. From her own experience and conversations with hundreds of other women, Lysa shares how mothers can release the guilt they sometimes feel and stop blaming their parenting skills every time a child does something wrong.
Do the voices in your head say you're not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough...or just not enough, period? It's time to stop listening to lies that sabotage your confidence and embrace the truth of who God says you are. Popular author and speaker Sharon Jaynes exposes the lies that keep you bogged down in shame, insecurity, and feelings of inadequacy. By recognizing the lies and replacing them with truth, you'll be able to silence the voice inside that whispers you're just not good enough, accept God's grace and move past failures that have defined and confined you.
Often the biggest obstacle to living out our faith is our own doubt - about our worth, our abilities, our relationship with God, and situations in our lives. A Confident Heart gives voice to the questions, doubts, struggles, and hopes so many women have. Author Renee Swope shows us how to identify, overcome, and learn from our self-doubts so that we can live confidently in God's assurance, truth, and grace.
Perfect for women's small groups or individuals, A Confident Heart is an authentic, insight-filled and encouraging message for any woman who wants to exchange defeating thought patterns with biblical truth that will transform the way she thinks, feels, and lives.
I loved it; however as an audiobook, Renee references sections in the book to refer to at a later time, but does not include a pdf of these resources. I checked her website hoping these resources were on her site for customers who purchased the audio book, but I was not able to find them. Outside of that, the information and message was excellent. I loved this audio book!

A confident heart is a message for everyone. We all are looking for confidence and security but our human nature and this world tears us apart. Our thought patterns develop bondage. God wants us to free us and provide confidence in Him.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I will recommend this to many women and may buy it for them.
What other book might you compare A Confident Heart to and why?
I read and or listen to audiobooks on a daily basis. Yes! 99% of them are non fiction. This book has similarities to many of my favorite books, yet is unique enough that it touched my heart in a different way tonight, It left me feeling excited and empowered and with the strong message of "I am okay!"
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
We are just passengers on this bus called life. Some women may be further along in their journey, some further behind, and some have not even begun or acknowledged a need to begin. All of this is just what it is and it is okay. God loves us and meets us where we are,

I was cruising through the oceans of books in the library and as always, i was praying and asking God to lead me to the book that would be the best for me to listen to this day. When I read the description of this book and listened to a sample of the book, fireworks were going off! I have the audible version and am going to order the hardback book today. and....while I am ordering it for me, I might as well order it for a few of my favorite women people!

I'm going to be honest. I listened to this audible book several times. Not because I thought the book was great the first few times but because I felt like I was distracted each time. Finally I was driving in my Jeep and the words just came alive. I "heard" it for the first time and it was meaningful and relatable. I felt like she was talking to me as if she knew me. I highly recommend this book.
