👍🏻

I enjoyed this one. Great cast of characters. Nothing new or original about the story but I did enjoy it. It’s a great start to a ZA series.

The narrator did a good job overall. I had to get used to him but after awhile the narration did grow on me.

Great story

What did you love best about Zed's World?

That the main characters have no military training. They are regular college students.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Annie, even though she is deaf, she is doing her best to survive

Which character – as performed by S.W. Salzman – was your favorite?

D-Day. That guy sounds awesome. Military training, yet willing to try to help others survive

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Tina got shot

Any additional comments?

A great book, one of the best audio books I have listened to in a while. S. L. Salzman brings these characters to life.

Great Series!

I sure hope there is gonna be another book! These first 2 went way to fast for me. I really enjoyed them and the narrarator was excellent. I loved the sound of his voice! I could listen to him every day. The characters were brought to life and you become fully vested in them. Would love to have a part 3! Great books to add to your library! love!!

Yeah another good zombie seri s!

While I wanted to give the narrator a cough drop or a glass of water I did get use to his scratchy voice. I wasn’t sure if this was his natural voice or a conscience decision for the voice work. All in all it was a great listen. I look forward to the continuation of the series.
D-Day is a bad ass & I can’t wait to see what happens to him & all of he characters in the various story lines.

well worth listening to

This is my first Rich Baker book (s). I really liked these books. The story is well written and the characters are likable and relatable. I hope to see more of this series as I want to know what is going to happen. This is also my first time hearing S.W. Salzman do narration. Definitely a voice I like listening to as I have started Mr. Baker's Zed's World over and over. I think I am on my 5 th time listening. High praise to the author and narrator.

Entertaining and enjoyable

Entertaining and enjoyable zombie apocalypse story. It pulled me in from the start and held my complete attention. I wasn't ready for it to be over when it ended and immediately went looking to see if there were more installments of the series available on Audible. Unfortunately not yet.

While there is really nothing new or unique overall about the scenario it's an interesting and enjoyable good story with a well rounded cast of characters. I really liked that the origin of what started the apocalypse was fully explained. Instead of being dropped into the middle of the action.

The story follows several different groups in their attempts to avoid dangerous situations, adjust when they can't, what happens to them on their way to get home/reunite with each other or reach a destination.

One of the most entertaining about things any type of apocalypse story is if you pay attention you can learn something new, unusual or just something you might never have thought of.

S.W. Salzman does a good job with the narration. I have listened to several books that he has narrated but in this book his voice seems to be even more raspy/gruff than usual and it took me a while to adjust to his narration. Not long though. He is one of those narrators that has an easily recognizable voice. Good character voices. I even liked his female voices. Just a slight change in cadence was enough to distinguish a female character. I'm glad he didn't try to do a falsetto voice for female characters. He was able to bring the characters and story to life. Hopefully he will be narrating the rest of the series.

Great Start to a zombie series!

Would you consider the audio edition of Zed's World to be better than the print version?

Never read the print but the audio version was really good!

What did you like best about this story?

Loved the characters and different perspectives. Really liked D-day!

Have you listened to any of S.W. Salzman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Haven't heard any of his other stuff. And I'll admit that at the beginning I didn't think I would like his style and voice. But he really grew on me, couple hours into the book.

Any additional comments?

Interesting take on the Zombie Genre

What made the experience of listening to Zed's World the most enjoyable?

The story was very well crafted. It told the story through different points of view and each view was very distinct.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Zed's World?

The Chaos at the Mobi (?)

What about S.W. Salzman’s performance did you like?

I thought that he did a good job of narrating the book. he was able to lend distinct voices to each character. His voice was a little rough and was hard to get used to at first.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

TERRORism on the Homefront!!!

Any additional comments?

Zombies! SO fast! Everywhere

I liked how the Zombies came about to be. very cleaver. The story moves quickly, and has a lot of action packed into it.

It took me a bit, to like the narrator, At first, I just couldn't bond with his voice, but it got better over time.

We're on our own out here.

This Audio book includes the first two episodes of an ongoing serial. As such, further books will be required to complete the story.
Having said that, the first of the two books could be read alone as it reads like a short story covering the redistribution of the virus which will cause such worldwide devistation. Book two moves on to the first hours, the release points, chaos and reaction from authorities, and introduces the reader to those characters likely to be playing a part in the books to come.

An interesting feature of these opening chapters is that the distribution of the virus released was a deliberately devised scheme, that the Zeds were very fast moving and actively aggressive.

Early days yet but the desperate groups of survivors trying to find a safe location seem to be growing in charactdr and this is ably assisted by the narration of S.W.Salzman. His slightly gruff voice is pleasant to hear and his reading is well paced and clear.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the rights ho?der, via Audiobook Boom. My thanks for that. I did enjoy listening and there were certainly some novel approaches which promise to make this slightly different to other zombie apocalypse books. But was I sufficiently involved to continue with the serial? Probably not.

Amazing - from the characters to the storyline!

These books grabs you from page one. I'm glad my graduation didn't go down like this! I love the diversity of angles that we have from terrorists to survivalists to those just trying to make it - all with Zombies of course. You can really tell that the author is interested in the psychology of a broken society where we stop worrying about what to buy and survival one again trumps everything else.

Great suspense, tense, action filled story all brought to life by the incredible narration.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

step into Zeds World

overnight chaos descends and the world we know is pulled out from beneath us.
It's something that deep down we all fear, a global biological terriost attack.
With so much unrest around the world at present no where is safe and this series taps into my deepest fear, a virus from which there is no escape.
Its edge of you'r seat, heart in your mouth action with fear and horror abound.
