Different story line for zombies...

It is rare to find a different type of zombie plot and good likable characters with development. Overall it was entertaining and I enjoyed the story line. The main character reminded me of one of my favorites "Mountain Man" Gus.
With a good narrator, overall it was a pretty good listen throughout. Since i have been struggling to find something lately that is saying something. Not sure if I will continue the series but will keep it on my list of possibilities.

Great SHTF book

Mase and the 10 yr old he’s trying to keep safe run and hide through the city fighting the 3 stage zombies looking for Mac’s Aunt. Lots of action and likable characters. Looking for forward to the next in the series.

Addictive

Great story from start to finish. From characters to descriptions of environments and people. Looking forward to the next story.

Last of Us, Crossed w/ The walking Dead Yet Unique

**Pre-listen Impressions: The cover looks a bit over the top, feeling pretty vanilla about listening to a zombie book. Ive listened to over a hundred zombie books, havent listened to one in a couple years.

**Initial Impression: Shocked that im actually geniuinly enjoying myself.

**Mid-Listen Impression: Author does well at world building. Getting strong, The walking dead vibes, with a touch of Last of Us. However the book does its own thing making it unique, rather than a copy of the two. Would give it 5 stars right here and now.

**Post-listen impressions: Knocking a star off. While I stayed up late last night listening to this book, resetting the sleep timer a half dozen times, today as I finish the last hours Im ready for it to be over. I wont spoil the plot, but i feel the author leaned pretty hard into the main theme the last couple hours. Had me *mentally* rolling my eye and waving my had to get along with the story.

**Story: 4 Stars (Nearly perfect for this kind of book. I havent enjoyed a zombie novel this much in a long time. Pulled a star for the last couple hours of the book.)

I like this book a lot

Without having a lot of reviews or a writer or narrator I was familiar with I was pleasantly surprised how much I’m enjoying this book. It has a a little bit of a new take on zombies, great writing and I really like the narrator. There’s not very many zombie apocalypse book series that I haven’t listened to over the years and I would recommend this one to my friends.

A lot of fast forwarding

Decent premise, but very predictable. Jumped forward minutes at times to avoid boring fight or escape sections that just dragged on. Missed nothing except my lost credit.

Fun twist on the Zompocalypse!

Very enjoyable! Good story, great characters, solid narration! We enjoyed it very much and will move on to the next book in the series!

Pretty great actually

So it took me a few to get used to the narrator, but when I did it was one of the better zombie books I’ve heard. I’m excited to listen further.

I really enjoyed the book and I love the storyline. can't wait for the next book.

Very tense read. Too tense at times.

The book was in my mind, nonstop action. i barely ever had a chance to take in what had just happened before another long, and at points repititive action sequence. There was also a part that was a little overdone, with a truly vile character. It's all well enough to have a bad guy, but there was too much detail and added gross stuff to this one.

The narrator however i will give 4 stars just for the fact that i loved his voices and in particular the main voice he did that in my opinion so many voice actors cant seem to pull off. Overall, i think i'll continue this series once i get around to cleating more of my backlog

Last of us!

Seriously - if you love Last of Us - you are gonna love this. I love me some zombie tales and this one took me by surprise. Its heart warming and about a man who finds a young girl during a zombie apocalypse and the family bond they forge while surviving. On to book two
