    "Not a bad start"

The story was okay. I felt the characterizations of Mulder and Scully were mostly on-point, with a few off moments, but nothing particularly jarring. It read like a typical filler episode of The X-Files, nothing special, but enough to hold my interest. No major complaints about narration, it was a decent enough job. As is typical with books about TV shows, you'll have to use your imagination to believe it's Mulder and Scully speaking.

    "About average"

The premise of the book starts out like an x-file but quickly loses the "x-file" feel. Mixed with worthless extra characters and a few missteps in the characterization of Mulder and Scully only gives the book an "okay" rating. The performance wasn't terrible but nothing to write home about either.

    "Goblins"

It's an X-Files book. I'm pre-disposed to love it. I read it before, many years ago, and enjoyed both reads. Typical storyline...recognizable characters...fun exploits.

    "Exciting plot, but..."

it is a good plot, intricately woven throughout the story. I think the storytelling is a little difficult to follow though, compared to the other books in the series.
The depictions of Mulder and Scully are off. Mulder is the silent veteran agent who knows best and scolds other agents. Character traits are described, which there are no basis for in the tv-series. all in all it did not make me feel nostalgic or make me smile with recognition of references.

    "Full cast would have helped!"

Love the x-files, read this back in the day. The book is an over-described, average story. If it were acted out by a full cast of the original actors, it would be fair. Narrated, it is hard to get through.

"Thought the characters were a little inconsistent."

The story was great, much like the X-Files we know and love but I thought the portrayal of Moulder and Scully were a but out of character in some parts.
