Publisher's Summary

The war against the dragon minions of Queen Takhisis rages on. Armed with the mysterious, magical dragon orbs and the shining, silver dragonlance, the companions bring hope to the world. But now, in the dawn of a new day, the dark secrets that have long shadowed the hearts of the friends come to the light. Betrayal, treachery, frailty, and weakness will nearly destroy all that they have accomplished.

The greatest battle they have left to fight is within each of them. Yet, in the end, they will be heroes.

"Still Good, but narration got weaker"

The final book of the Chronicles of Dragon Lance. The Final battles of Good and Evil. It will end here, for good or ill, for at least most of the companions of our D&D tale. The War of the Lance completes. Magic, sneaking, spying, War, interpersonal conflicts, conflicts of morality and of the soul all in this book. It is still a great story even after all these years.

The narration however seemed to weaken. Characters and statements that should have been said with strength almost seem whiny. The narration itself is decent, but it feels as if the narrator did not take the time to consider the situation and the emotions behind the situation and instead just read the book. The characters even didn't have as much distinction between them as they did in the first and second books.

    "4.5 Stars"

All in all this was a good series, and definitely worthy of it's status as a classic. Being unfamiliar with the D&D world, perhaps I missed out on some things, but I was able to piece together what I could with a little help from a friend. I found the world and stage lacking in the dynamics found in novels by Sanderson or Jordan, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I'd recommend this series to anybody who enjoys fantasy novels.

"One of the best classic fantasy stories"

I've read the trilogy three times, and figured I'd give it a listen. Love this story. The characters are great and you really get attached to them, and worry for them.

The narration is just okay on this one, could be better.

You won't be disappointed if you listen to this story.

The narrator made all the characters come to life. It's been 20 years since I read the books and they are still as good today as they were then
