terrible narrator

I thought the narrator for the war of souls was bad it I didn't love the story so much 5his would have been in listenable, between mispronounced names and god awful accents I was about ready to disavow dragonlance forever

Disappointed

This book was boring and very difficult to finish. Being written by Margaret Weis, I had high expectations but was quickly let down. I highly doubt I’ll finish the trilogy.

Good series..must read

You must read the 'War of Souls ' trilogy before this trilogy. This follows along what happens afterwards. It is a very good series. but the narrator is awful..as usual.

The narrator did a really nice job, but...

I'll be honest. I have the paperbacks of the series, and I only got past the first 10 or so chapters. It reads too much like a romance novel, when it comes from a D&D series focused on gods, dragons and epic battles. There's too much "I love you <insert god here>" and not enough action. The narrator did a nice job. The writing is really meh. But, I'm determined to soldier through, unlike the main female antagonist, who did a 180 from the War of Souls Trilogy. She used to be a stoic, battle-hardened general. Now she spends her time fawning like a high school freshman after a horny, emo god...

Unique Storyline Direction Tangent

Well done all around. Weis is a master and although it does take a bit of getting used to a female reading some of the male parts, the narrator does a great job of being clear and concise and proper enunciation. A few mispronounciations but overall a pretty good job. Not a big fan of the Cockney kender accent if that what it was supposed to be though. The story has potential so far, but as with many novels, it takes a bit to build on a new storyline.

Interesting Storyline

After suffering through Marieve Herington I still hear the wretched echo of mispronounced words. But to my relief it was in my mind.

The narrator did amazing and I felt involved and pulled in by the story and the narration. Since you will need to have read the war of souls before this series, I recommend you take the time to buy the trilogy on paper and read it on your own. But don't be afraid to get this book as an audio book, this narrator makes the book come alive.

This is an amazing series, and you won't be disappointed with this book. And the narrator is fun and entertaining to listen to.

Not good

Too slow and too much history at the start. The ending left hanging didn't seem to finish.

Surprised

I was quite surprised at how good this follow up to the war of souls book was I look forward to hearing the rest of the series of the dark disciple.

A good listen

I enjoyed the book. Good story, rememberable characters. I am looking forward to the next book.

bad... just bad

I'm a huge fan of fantasy and like a great deal of forgotten realms. Dragon lance novels get worse as you go down the set. worst one out of the 15 or so I read. I'd have to say all Dragon lance has a few good characters with a poorly constructed world.
