Publisher's Summary

March 29, 1987....

For metalheads Mike Rawson, Lonnie Deveroux, and Pork Chop, an RV road trip to Wrestlemania III becomes a one-way ticket to hell. While delivering an illegal shipment of counterfeit wrestling merchandise, an ill-fated shortcut through the Kentucky backwoods leads them to a teenaged girl carved head to toe in arcane symbols.

Soon our unlikely heroes are being hunted through the boonies by a cult of religious crazies who make the Westboro Baptists look like choirboys…a cult that will stop at nothing to get the girl back and complete a ritual that has held an ancient evil at bay for centuries… Until now.

Creepy, Gory, and FUNNY

I purchased “Scapegoat” after Jason Hill promoted it on his podcast, “Horror Hill.”
I’m so glad I did. It’s a great story with over the top characters that Jason Hill absolutely brings to life through his narration. It has just the right mix of horror, gore, and humor. I didn’t want it to end! Readers who enjoy character driven stories will probably love it.

Ten Stars!

Great book all around. Howe's horror is so richly seasoned with just the right amounts of humor, camp, sleaze, nostalgia, and good, dense prose, it truly sets him apart from his peers. I've read/listened to quite a few books in this genre, and you could easily pick out the Howe in a double-blind placebo study. Along with the narrator, who's a truly top-shelf performer, this amounts to a sure-thing proposition. Put this in your shelf next to your favorite Konrath. Highly recommended!

Excellent Aural Experience!

I'm a fan of James Newman's writing already but hadn't tried anything by Adam Howe before. Together, they're amazing in their attention to detail, character, and suspense... and full-on, hair-raising horror. But it's narrator Jason Hill who really takes this one over the top. What a great combination of three terrific talents in horror. I'm not a fan of 80s wrestling or hair bands and if you're not either, don't let that put you off -- those are actually fun elements to the story and they do tie in to characters' connections to each other. Really well-woven tale and Hill's reading of each person brings them to life (and a few of them to death). 5 stars!

Rock on PC, Lonnie, and Mike... Rock on.

“Well let me tell you something, brother!” - Hulk Hogan

Absolutely loved it and devoured every second of Jason narrating. Shout out to Adam Howe and James Newman for creating such an interesting tale. Expertly detailed and a magnificent blend of suspenseful horror and humor. Wish it didn't end, but thoroughly enjoyed the ride in the camper... Ahem I mean motor home. Hope the guys are watching Wrestlemania in the Thunderdome!

An absolute MASTERPIECE!!!

The authors Adam Howe and James Newman wrote a story so unique and compelling, that I couldn’t listen to anything else until I had listened to the audiobook 3 times in a row!

While the story is awesome, Jason Hill’s performance was perfect! He brought the characters and the story to life! I’ve heard a ton of productions with his voice and he NEVER disappoints! If you’re not already, you need to check out his podcast, Horror Hill!

This has become my favorite audiobook! Thank you to all 3 of you guys for creating this masterpiece!
