Publisher's summary

Kendra Larkin had everything going in the right direction. Her life was seemingly perfect, and she wouldn't have changed a thing about it. Unfortunately, the course of her life was about to be forever altered. A tragic rappelling accident lands her on Dr. Adam Chamberlain's operating table.

She agrees to a deal proposed by a guardian angel to help save the soul of the man who is both her doctor and soulmate. If she is successful, she gets to keep her life. However, she later learns that it isn't just her life that's in jeopardy, but her soul as well.

Even with the help of her handsome guardian angel, Rhyan, it seems there is no happy ending in sight. Torn between her newly discovered love of Rhyan, and the undeniable attraction she has for Adam, Kendra finds herself at a crossroad. With Adam's steadfast rejection of God, and his guardian demon conspiring against her, she fears her soul may already be lost.

Will she find a way to overcome the evil her life is suddenly burdened with? Or will Adam's guardian demon win both their souls and make Kendra his own personal puppet in Hell?

Great Narrating

What made the experience of listening to Save My Soul the most enjoyable?

Narrator was really good! She did a great job with the different characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rhyan was my favorite character. Just thought he was a great guardian angel

Which character – as performed by Erin Mallon – was your favorite?

Kendra was my favorite because she was the main character and I picture her voice with Erin's

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really.

Any additional comments?

Book pushed religion a little to much for me and at times there was a little to much detail by overall I really enjoyed the story and so very glad it had an ending, not a cliff hanger that all authors seem to be doing lately. Look forward to book two!

A fantastic voyage!

Would you consider the audio edition of Save My Soul to be better than the print version?

Yes! I have the ebook of this and it wasn't nearly as good as the audio version! I just don't remember everything I read, but in audio with all the different voices, it is like hearing a movie, but better. The excitement in the book and the voices stick with me & I remember it all so clearly! I absorb more with the audiobook!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the plot! I loved all the voices. I didn't like Murray, he is one bad ass! I loved Kendra, Adam & Ryan. I loved how the guardians have the ability to speak to Kendra in her head. I loved the adventure in the story over all & the happy ending!!!

What does Erin Mallon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Erin's ability to do multiple voices is great. I loved the soothing sounds of Ryan & Adam's voices. The excitement she brings into the story thru her voice is mesmerizing. Kendra's role was totally believable too & exciting!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the part where Adam breaks down & tells Kendra why he doesn't believe in God. What has happened to his family & in the end when Adam's guardian angel turns out to be his mom. That was great! Mostly, I loved the happy ending.

Any additional comments?

Great book! Loved the storyline. The plot was awesome, it sucked me right in & took me on an incredible adventure! What a great imagination K S Haigwood (author) has! The ability to write such a story, capture my interest & keep me entertained all at once is awesome.

Nice

It was a nice story. Great drama. But the plot twist with the devil was obvious. I still enjoy it.

A great audiobook

Any additional comments?

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Erin Mallon, who does a very nice job .. Her voice is rather breathy at times, but all jn all is good It has a steady quick pace, another thing I enjoy. Her voices were all distinct and consistent throughout. The emotions seemed off at times, some moments were dropped while others seemed exaggerated. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook.

Thrilling

One of the best romantic thrillers I've listened to! I loved the story. It is very well written and has so many of the elements of romance that I love. A war between the main character's personal demons and guardian angles. Fantastic story!

The narrator had some issues at the beginning but overall I thought it was a solid performance. She had me so wrapped up in the story that I didn't notice anything after a short time, so I'm not sure if it continued throughout.

So bad that it's good

Have you ever read/listened to a story that was so bad, you kept listening if only to find out just how much cheesier it can get? Well, that's what made me listen to the end. I'm fascinated with the author's free-spirited utter disregard for conventionality, so top marks!

Interesting...not a traditional Christian Romance

I am not really sure how to classify this book. It is a Paranormal with religious undertones but it also has premarital sex. I am have no problem with that, but traditionally somebody looking for a Christian read doesn't want sex and regular paranormal readers are not looking for as much god talk. This makes it difficult to see exactly who the target audience is.

I generally like the book and the story. There is a great flow to the book and the characters. I did think it was a bit tricky all coming from Kendra's POV, it limits you to only what she knows or is told. It might have been nice to have a little of Adam and his skepticism. Or Ryan, with his guardian angel angst.

Kendra has moments of immaturity and times when she seems really promiscuous. Not sure how a Christian readers are going to take her friends-with-benefits relationship. It also appears almost every guy in the book is interested in her. Don't get me wrong, she has some really winning moments, but there are a lot of curve balls as well.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Erin Mallon, who does a very nice job of helping to connect with the main character. Her voice is rather breathy at times, but nothing I could not handle. She has a steady quick pace, another thing I enjoy. Her voices were all distinct and consistent throughout. The emotions seemed off at times, some moments were dropped while others seemed exaggerated. Still it was a comfortable listen.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, I was just thrown by the seeming contradictions. I will definitely be looking for the next book in the series, I just have to know! I love a bit of drama and this one had me tearing up a few times!!
