With Evelyn unconscious, it's up to the rest of the team to keep Chicago from breaking out into chaos.

Witches, wolves, and vampires are at each other's throats. Demons are slipping through the barrier and the dead are piling up. It's up to Astrid and Ranulf to keep Chicago from erupting into war.

With Evelyn getting weaker by the hour, Falk and Rina race against time and magic to find the only way to save her. But the storm that got away from Evelyn has gotten larger, spreading across the united states grounding every flight. Will they make it in time to save her?

AWESOME!!!

Lots of characters and lots of action. Love it! However, I felt it kind of ended abruptly. Hopefully there will be a book 3.

Great story. Narration... interesting.

Shaun Grindell reads the book like he's channeling William Shatner... very stilted. The story is awesome but the William Shatner narrative is distracting and funny at times. I know the story is in Chicago, but if you close your eyes while listening you can easily imagine being on the Enterprise.

Because of this I'll seriously consider not buying other books he narrates. It's too distracting.

Awesome series

I love this series so different then any other shifter novel and Shaun grindell is way better narrator then Antony so glad ms brunnemer changed the male narrator. I love how strong all the heroine are they don’t whine or wait for someone to save them. The only thing I hate about this series is how long it takes to get another book we all know by the endings that the series isn’t over but 2 to 3 years between books come on that is ridiculous

great story; bad male narrator

This is another great book by BL Brunnemer. however, I really really really hated the male narrator. It was like he was trying to be seductive or dark and mysterious at all times. like his words just drug on. I had a hard time listening to his parts because I was constantly making fun of him in my head. I don't normally leave reviews, but geez it was so hard for me to finish.

that was a lot... loved it

(Renalf & Astrid and Falk & Rina): second book of the series and all hell has broken loose. Evelyn is currently in a coma and Atticus is losing it. The city is falling apart as the treaties between each of the different clans begin to break. This book finds us looking at Rina and Astrid's story. Astrid, the wolf shifter, finds her mate at the end of the previous book however because Renalf is a gargoyle, they have to keep it a secret. Unfortunately, her pack alpha has plans to send her off to be the alpha female to another male in another pack. This brings a lot of drama between both her and her mate but her and her alpha. Rina is an empath and works in Evelyn's store. She's also deaf. Evelyn needs her help so she goes on a journey to find what's needed to help her friend. Falk, another one of the gargoyles, is tasked to protect her because someone plans to stop her from saving Evelyn. Everyone has a great backstory that fully explains the way they are. Fall and Rina are perfectly matched, he manages to calm the voices in her head and he's always there to protect her. Their relationship is a slow burn but a sweet one. Astrid and Renalf are full steam ahead almost from the beginning and they are hot. There's a lot of fighting, a lot of action in the book. We get to hear from all of the different clan/pack members, so they aren't forgotten. I really liked this series. I wished that there were more books instead of squeezing the two couples in addition to finishing Evelyn and Atticus' story all in one book. But definitely worth the read.

Loved it

Where is the next book? How am I supposed to binge on a new series if there isn’t anymore? That is my only disappointment
