Publisher's Summary

The Warlord Wants Forever...the sensually charged novella that started it all, now with an exclusive excerpt from MacRieve!

In this scorching series opener, New York Times best seller Kresley Cole introduces the captivating Immortals After Dark series. The book also includes an exclusive extended excerpt from MacRieve, the highly anticipated next installment in the series.

The Warlord

Nikolai Wroth, a ruthless vampire general, will stop at nothing to find his bride, the one woman who can "blood" him, making his heart beat and filling him with strength. Coldly interested only in the power his bride will bring, he can hardly believe when Myst the Coveted awakens him body - and soul.

The Seductress

Famed throughout the world as the most beautiful Valkyrie, Myst has devoted her life to protecting a magical jewel and to fighting the vampires.

Wroth provides her with the perfect opportunity to torment her sworn enemy - for with his new heartbeat comes a consuming sexual desire that can be slaked only by her. Denying him, she flees, struggling to forget his searing, possessive kiss.

The Hunt is on

She eludes him for five years, but he has finally chased her to ground and stolen her enchanted jewel, giving him absolute power over her. Now that she's his for the taking, he intends to make her experience firsthand the agonizing, unending lust she subjected him to for half a decade. Yet when Nikolai realizes he wants far more than vengeance from Myst and frees her, will she come back to him?

Robert Petkoff made me buy it

Love all the IAD series, but had skipped this one. So glad they remade the audible with R.P. Great story and makes me want to start over with the rest of the series. Noticed audible doesn't seem to have pre order on upcoming releases, hope the will consider giving us that to look forward to (as long as R.P. is the narrator).

Wonderful new beginning

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it is a revamped version of the original but most importantly because it now has the right narrator! Robert Petkoff was meant to be the narrator of this entire series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Myst--it was like getting to meet her all over again.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, It was just as phenomenal as the other IAD books he has narrated.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I did.

Any additional comments?

So many Easter eggs dispersed in this that give hints as to what is to come in the series. Great new beginning.

Loved it even more with Robert at the helm.

Robert brings something more to yhe table. I had already fell in love with Mist and Roth. To have theire story brought to life with the voice of the series just made it that much more.

A voice like no other!!

Petkoff can read anything to me at any time! His ability to drag you in and make you love the characters he voices is incredible. He doesn't just read, like some voice actors, he actually acts. Even the females get a voice from him. Although, I will admit, it did feel somewhat naughty having him give such a voice to such a steamy book but I think I'll recover tolerably. ;-)

Robert Petkoff brings the story to life

Petkoff is an amazing narrator. The story was shorter than I prefer but the characters were still developed. I have already started the next book in the series and I can say each other brings old and new characters together. Cole created stories that overlap and continue into the combined history and future of the Lore creatures.

Good Prequel for the Immortals After Dark Series.

Tales of Valkyries, Vampires and ghouls . This is a prequel to the series 'Immortal After Dark'.
It tells the story of Myst and Nikolai Wroth which is an important relationship in later books. Powerful story as always with a good narration by Robert Petkoff.
Parts of this and later books in the series can be sexually graphic so if you don't like that sort of thing don't read it. For me it doesn't matter either way but I do prefer attentive kind love.

Book 1 in Kresley Cole's IAD series

Would you consider the audio edition of The Warlord Wants Forever to be better than the print version?

I have only listened to audio, but narrator Robert Petcoff brings this to life as he does for the entire series.

What other book might you compare The Warlord Wants Forever to, and why?

Kresley's IAD series is unique to other fantasy stories as she creates a world which makes the mind believe the creatures are possibly living next door or leaves you checking out strangers in super markets....lol.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Robert is flawless in each book.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What comes around....???

Any additional comments?

A stimulating book introducing this amazing series, which is fun, addictive, sexy, steamy, modern and old at the same time, but always entertaining. I found nothing to equal the writing, narration, and the world that is of demons, witches, vampires, valkyries, werewolves and more. Kresley your IAD universe needs to continue.
