Nominated Best Fantasy Romance by Gravetell Reader's Choice Awards.

I'll never forget the first time I saw them, warriors moving like shadows from the trees. Their eyes seemed to glow with a fierce golden light, moving more like beasts than men. I trembled, every hair on my flesh prickled in the age old response of the hunted. They were predators and I was prey.

They entered the clearing and brought with them the smell of blood. Clad in furs and leather, bristling with weapons, they were warriors the likes of which I'd never seen. Huge, hulking forms, dark shapes pricked with those glowing pairs of eyes.

I could not face them properly, for I was bound to a tree, in the middle of a wilderness, helpless as I waited to be sold to the Berserkers.

When Brenna's father sells her to a band of passing warriors, her only thought is to survive. She doesn't expect to be claimed by the two fearsome warriors who lead the Berserker clan. Kept in captivity, she is coddled and cared for, treated more like a savior than a slave. Can captivity lead to love? And when she discovers the truth behind the myth of the fearsome warriors, can she accept her place as the Berserkers' true mate?

Dark and Steamy romance

I am usually not a fan of this type of romance story line. Even though I enjoy some paranormal romance , I have not connected with warewolf books in the past. Yet, the description summary and the sample of the narrator's voice, made me want to try this book. To my surprise, I loved it. This author creates a beautiful love story using some dark elements. There is cliff hanger. Sold and Mated are one complete story. the remaining 3 books are more stand alone, but really need to be read in order. please note, there is some dark and rough sexual elements that might not appeal to everyone.

The first book of a series and wow!

Audible is new to me and wow. WOW. Robert Ross is 100% the perfect voice for this series, I LOVED how he read the book. This is a fabulous short menage story that makes you excited about the rest of the series, I can't wait to hear Robert Ross read Lee's next book!

Saddened . . . so much possibility

This one was so short that it held so much but fell just a bit short of hitting its mark. I was desiring so much more. I know that this was a short story or more an introduction to the series. I think that I was having just a bit of time getting past the pain, degradation, and embarrassment of it all. At the same time learning this is what was needed on both sides of the paring. Both her desire to please and need for pain and their needed to have her submission and her pain.

Robert Ross will take some time to get use to. He nails the male voices, growls, and more but it was hit and miss with the female.

Refunded

There are several issues... Narrator is a male but the book is written in female POV. Narrator is not that good, monotone and lack luster. Even with bad narration I can get into a book if it has content that catches my attention. You will not find that here. I was thinking of what clothes needed to be washed and my grocery list.

Interesting story

I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. Considering he was doing the voice for the main character whom was female and the two Berserkers I have to say his voice just is one of those ones that reach out and grab you. Ask for the story it was very interesting. The characters of the Berserker and how they became to be captivated me. But most of all the main character trying to express herself and learning about herself throughout the book made the story for me. When I read more books from this author and surrounding these characters? yes!

Painful to listen and a waste of credit

The book is a female first person view, but the narrator is male. He had an accent and the most monotone voice I have ever heard.
To make matters worse, the story doesn't add anything. It's poor

What was that?

A woman's point of view spoken by a male? Lot me! Sorry must say not for me.

Couldn't even finish listening

This book might have been ok if the narration hadn't been so bad. His voice was flat, the heroine is in danger and frightened but you would never know it by the way it was read. He was so dull.

Sexy sexy sexy!

From the word go, Lee Savino has provided a sensual, sexy and sweet story that leaves you wanting more. Luckily this is only the start of the series. With a little spanking and some sensual play, this menage is surprisingly emotional and even a little sweet (which is rather surprising considering the story includes not one but two berserkers). Brenna has lost the ability to speak but her thoughts are intense, which, in turn, adds an intense element to her experiences. It certainly leaves the readers wishing they had two attentive, dominant berserker lovers too!

Robert Ross's narration is pretty well matched to the story. His voice adds a calm, deep quality to the storytelling that both fits the warriors' behaviour towards Brenna and is incongruous with the perceived wild nature of the berserkers.

Overall the story is enjoyable especially if you like your men large, just a little bit wild and not above meting out a spanking!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
