Publisher's summary

Hope Harbor Police Chief Lexie Graham has plenty on her plate raising her son alone and dealing with a sudden rash of petty theft and vandalism in her coastal Oregon hometown. As a result, she has zero time for extracurricular activities - including romance. Ex-con Adam Stone isn't looking for love either - but how ironic is it that the first woman to catch his eye is a police chief? Yet wishing for things that can never be is foolish.

Nevertheless, when Lexie enlists Adam's help to keep a young man from falling into a life of crime, sparks begin to fly. And as they work together, it soon becomes apparent that God may have a different - and better - future planned for them than either could imagine.

Lauded by Library Journal as "a master at character development", Irene Hannon welcomes listeners back to this charming Oregon seaside village where hearts heal - and love blooms.

Uplifting

Once again, Therese Plummer shines in her narration. Her ability to bring each character alive just enhances Irene Hannon's marvelous storytelling. It is so refreshing to read a book without vulgarity and other unnecessary scenes - enough said. Ms. Hannon has the ability to bring you right into the story.

Hands Down, Hannon!

Or shall I say Hands Up? In this book Hannon pairs up an ex-con, a female Chief of Police & a troubled youth. I thought that made an excellent mix for this story!!! Actually believable as Well! This story is 1 I go back to & listen again..10 stars out of 5!

This is my favorite

Can a sheriff and a ex-con fall in love? Yes, at first Lexie has her reservations because like so many of us we care too much about what other people might think. Once she falls for him though she fights for him when a vicious rumor gets spread about Adam.
Also, Lexie's son is adorable!

Enjoyed Thoroughly

This was another sweet tale by Irene Hannon. I found it engaging, sprinkled with inspirational messages but not heavy handed. Therese Plummer does a great job narrating. I enjoy all the recurring characters in this series, and the familiarity of the town. It’s fun to spot the likely focus of the next book in the series planted amidst the previous tale. Everything is neatly wrapped up in a bow by the end of each of these books. Not so much in real life, but that’s part of the appeal - a respite from the messy world we live in. I recommend this book and the whole series.
