Publisher's Summary

When you're a Delta Force soldier, you see a lot. Often too much. But nothing can ever prepare you to see your entire team die before your eyes....

The loss of his Delta brothers - and his arm - has Dane "Fish" Munroe still struggling months later. He's moved to Idaho, where an isolated lifestyle is making things worse, not better. Not that there's anyone left to care.

Actually, Bryn Hartwell cares. In fact, she tries to surreptitiously make life just a little easier for the mysterious man who comes into the grocery where she works late at night, only to get a tongue lashing for her trouble. Still, he's obviously hurting; someone has to worry about him, spurring Bryn to nurse Dane when he hits a particularly low point.

Intrigued by the quirky, kind, socially awkward woman, Dane allows himself to get close to someone for the first time in ages. A potentially epic mistake - because when her interest in the prepper lifestyle puts Bryn in the hands of a homegrown terrorist, losing her could put Dane's mental recovery permanently out of reach.

But once a Delta, always a Delta. And there's a team in Texas who are ready to have Dane's back at a moment's notice.

Rescuing Bryn is the sixth book in the Delta Force Heroes series. Each book is a standalone, with no cliffhanger endings.

very enjoyable.

I was going to return this book especially after hearing the narrator's voice. I enjoy the sound of the mail voice more, like Robert Petkoff or David Brenin, especially if they take the effort to change their voice for different characters. As I listened past the prolog and the introduction of the others characters I realized that Stella Bloom was changing her voice for them and decided to continue listening. The further along in the story the better she got. I was impressed by both the story and the effort of Stella Bloom to make this an enjoyable experience.

Amazing!!!

The narration on this awesome story is fantastic!
Love Dane and Bryn. Both hero and heroine are so different from your average romance H/h.
He with his PTSD and amputated arm and her with her Aspergers made this a sweet heart warming story about two people who need healing finding each other and never letting go.

Awesome as always

Stella is fantastic and nails each character in her narrations. Rescuing Bryn was another keeper, the way Bryn blurts out random facts, and Fish gets her. Loved it!

Bryn and Dane

Another great book by Susan Stoker. Stella Bloom does a great job narrating her books and is easy to listen to.

I totally approve of the audio version Bering released prior to the kindle version so I can get my "fix" even sooner.

I highly recommend that you read the Delta Force series in order to get the maximum enjoyment and understand who the other guys are and their back stories.

As always, enjoyed the sneak peak of the next upcoming book with Beetle.

Susan Stoker didn't disappoint! This is AMAZEBALLS

Susan Stoker is the Author. Stella Bloom is the narrator. Stella does a great job (like always) narrating this book.

This is the 6th book in Susan Stokers Delta Force Series.
Dane Monroe was involved in a roadside bomb that not only killed his entire team, but also destroyed his arm. The Delta Team shows up and Truck saves Danes life. Dane's sense of self was destroyed along with his arm, Truck shows up periodically, talking Dane out of his head. While talking with Truck on the phone one night, Dane notices some crazy stalker chick. He goes up to her, in true man fashion, and enters his foot into his mouth. Bryn Heartwell is the crazy stalker chick (she is a certified genius, that spouts out random facts as they hit her head). She has noticed him for awhile at the grocery store she works at. She tries to help him from the background. After he chews her out, she quits her job...for him.
After some minor drama, they end up getting together and Bryn gets fascinated with the Prepper Lifestyle. When Bryn gets into something, she can't stop until she has learned it all. This fascination with the lifestyle leads her to get kidnapped. In true Susan Stoker style, Dane has no clue where to find her. He puts some clues together and figures out where she is.
Can he save her? Does he get his happy ending? Does he get his head out of his butt enough to figure out he needs her; that she makes him "normal"?

This book kicks butt! Once you start it, you'll NEVER be able to put it down!!

I heart this story!

This book..heck this series is right up my alley. Dane is a former Delta Force Operator. After losing his team and his arm during a mission, he moves to a small town in Idaho to live a quiet life. He does not go unnoticed by Bryn. She is an unassuming, intelligent yet somewhat quirky girl who works at the local grocery store. Because of her intelligence and lack of filter, she has lived a life alone. I fell In love with her instantly. To me she was a true person. What you saw was what you got. She was honest in an innocent way. I think her personality was the perfect match for Dane. It seemed to put him at ease. Giving him something else to focus on when he was having one of his episodes. She allowed him to feel like a person again. To love again. These two people seem to think they are outcast because of who they are or what happened to them but they are wrong. These are two people who are just trying to find their niche in society.

This book was filled with suspense, drama, and a love story that was beautiful to see develop. Like all other Susan Stoker books, I couldn’t put his one down. I read this one in one day, it was that good.

I liked it

But it was Slow going in some places. For the most part, I like Stoker's books.

Regarding the narrator, sometimes the rough, tough men, who probably should have deeper voices, didn't. But hey, the narrator has a nice voice and for the MOST part, the listening was a pleasure.
Thanks!

Up to Susan Stoker's Usual High Standards!!

Susan Stoker is a favourite of mine. She has the fantastic habit of writing books that are, each and every time, a labour of love. Her characters and the situations they find themselves in are thoughtfully researched in careful detail and sensitively presented. Her books may be heavy on romance with a focus on the military comradery, but she consistantly touches on social/economic/political issues that educate the reader/listener. In this book, Susan has crafted her story to include doomsday preppers, homegrown terrorism, PTSD, aspergers and the challenges of being, as well as being with, an amputee. As always, Susan Stoker deals with these sometimes controversial subjects with grace, dignity, sensitivity and without apology.

All that aside, mostly I want to know where I can find me one of these delicious Delta Force men.
Kudos to Susan Stoker, for another stellar book! Kudos to Stella Bloom, whose narration brings the characters and story to life!

Totally captured my heart!

I listened to the audiobook of Susan Stoker’s latest release and it was amazing!

Dane “Fish” Monroe and Bryn Hartwell totally captures my heart. Dane is an amputee veteran who is struggling to enter the real world now that he’s missing part of his left arm.

Bryn is a genius who is also on the autism spectrum. She had me giggling throughout the entire book. I loved all the random facts that she is constantly spouting and in the most weird of situations. What most captured me was her kind hearted-ness which is what brought her and Dane together.

Gah! I can’t say enough about this book! You definitely need to read it!
