From the New York Times best-selling author of The Mighty Storm comes a heartfelt new stand-alone novel....

Taylor Shaw had the perfect life - until she was 16. That was when everything changed. From that moment on, life went from bad to worse...to the worst. After recovering from a brain tumor, months later, she suffers the tragic loss of her whole family.

Since that fateful day, she's been coasting through life.

Now the brain tumor has returned, and Taylor decides she's had enough. She's going to take her fate into her own hands. No more hospitals. No more surgeries. No more anything.

She's going to join her family.

It's her decision. What she longs for. The ending she wants.

She just has a list of things to do before she goes. First, go to England. Second, kiss a stranger... Only Taylor didn't expect Liam Hunter, the stranger - with his handsome face, his six-foot-three of gorgeousness, and his oh-so-hot English accent - to change things. To change her. To change the ending she wanted.

What is a girl who is standing on the edge of nothing to do when offered the chance of everything?

My Review:
Overall: 4.5
Performance: 4.5
Story: 4.75

This book was just as good as I'd hoped it would be. Wow, it was really, really excellent. I listened to it on audio, but now I'm thinking I should read it in print to see if it's just as good. I honestly have a feeling it will actually be even better. (Although, the audio was EXCELLENT...I highly recommend it.)

The story is actually heartbreaking. Taylor has come to England to finish a list of tasks...to live...before the brain tumor that's killing her ends her life. One of her tasks is to kiss a stranger and that's how she meets Liam on the plane.

From the start, the two of them are explosive together. Taylor is grabbing onto life and is willing to do just about anything. Her zest for life infuses Liam with new life. He's a multi-billionaire and hasn't done much besides focus on building his business for the last few years. But he finds himself cutting work and just playing...just for the hell of it.

Their arrangement is a temporary one. She's there for 2 weeks. He'll help her accomplish her list. Emotions...besides fun and happiness...were never supposed to be involved. It's a romance novel, you know how that's going to play out.

Really the story was amazing. The narrators did an incredible job with the accents and inflections. Everything about this book was incredible. I highly recommend it!

The protagonist faces an incredibly complex and deeply personal problem, one that likely resonates only with those who have lived through similar experiences. However, the author's writing skillfully draws the reader into her world, fostering empathy even for those unfamiliar with her specific struggles. While her ultimate decision is heartbreaking, the narrative allows us to understand and, perhaps, even accept it. The male lead's efforts to support her, while simultaneously navigating his own challenges, are also portrayed with sensitivity.

Complex, Heartbreaking, empathetic

this is my first review. I love this author and was excited. the story and Taylor were a little tough after awhile. she frustrated me in a good way. disappointed the male pov comes in so late in the book. however when it finally did, I was riveted. the narrators were great and entertaining. I will watch for them when I'm shopping for future selections.

the ending I wanted
