Publisher's summary

Summer Abernathy wakes up one morning to find her husband missing, three men in her home intent on finding him, and the life she's been living based on a lie. Which Kyle Abernathy did she marry? The computer programmer she met in line at the bank? Or the one who was apparently using that image as a cover story? The search for her husband - and answers - takes Summer ever deeper into a world of organized crime, where people are used one moment and discarded the next. And with her deepest relationship of trust already shattered, Summer doesn't know who to believe. Always thrilling, Lynette Eason outdoes herself in this taut, breakneck story of lies, loyalties, and love that will have listeners up all night to discover the truth hidden in the shadows.

An exciting, action-packed book! Well worth Ed the read!

Author Lynette Eason elevates the story of love with a truly action-packed story of precision-like military exploits. The prize? It reflects the oldest plot of all: Accessing God’s offered, chosen pathway, or sinking into the plot of the prince of darkness...facing a the most vile evil. This book reads like an old-time novel with a fresh, new face. Don’t miss this excellent book! ...But don’t read it too fast! To do so would risk the many worthy nuances, the twists and turns of the action! Enjoy!

Heart-racing and lovely

This is my 2nd book by Lynette Eason, and I loved it just as much as the first. It is such a pleasure to read/hear crime novels, which I love, that are non compromising on the Word of God, and there is no profanity. Story kept me on the edge, and narrator was fantastic too. God bless you both!

Best book by this author

this is the best book by this author that I have read so far. It was a little squishy and I got a little bit frustrated by the main character - summer I can but after awhile it was pretty good.

good yarn, looking forward to more but ..

☆☆Story: Excellent. Great character development and a fun plot. Looking forward to more in this series.

☆☆Narrator: Meredith Mitchell does great voices and inflections, BUT someone *needs* to tell her that when a noun begins with a vowel the E in THE before it is long. Please.
Thē office. Thē envelope.
PLEASE!

Fast moving, great entertainment

The storyline was actually quite enjoyable. I appreciated the chase in the bad guys vs good guys element that ran through the book - quite creative and certainly entertaining. Ms. Mitchell did a fine job of narration. If there were only one thing that I could change? I wish that I could work as Ms. Eason’s editor, for if a few redundancies and couple minor details were cleaned up, this great story happily would be tighter. As was, I continually reset the sleep timer, and my mind easily was swept away from the pandemic in April 2020. After all, I believe that most of us merely are looking for fast moving and reasonably believable entertainment in these romance thrillers. I appreciated the author’s focus on the thriller aspect. Thank you, Ms. Eason. I’m off to find your next book.

Action packed story

There's no shortage of action within this story; the backstories slowly come out throughout the story. For me, it was a touch of a cliched Mafia story. Having said that, it had the stamp of Lynette Eason's touch but not her full on creativity to me. I'm going backwards reading her earlier stories now so I'm a tad spoiled from her latest books that are more developed - a normal curve for most writers.
Still recommend the book as it keeps you're attention most of the time.
Meredith Mitchell did a good job narrating.

Great mystery

This book is the first book I have read by Lynette Easton and will not be the last. She definitely grabs and keeps your attention with all the movement and trying to figure out who is guilty and when you think it's over it's not. Great book.
