Critic reviews

"New Moon will more than feed the bloodthirsty hankerings of fans of the first volume and leave them breathless for the third." (School Library Journal)

"Bella's dismay at being ordinary (after all, she's only human) will strike a chord even among girls who have no desire to be immortal, and like the vampires who watch Bella bleed with 'fevered eyes', teens will relish this new adventure and hunger for more." (Booklist)

Favourite from the Saga

New Moon has to be my favourite book out of the series. I love the relationship Jacob and Bella have as it gives a realistic perspective on best friend romance. I'm especially fond of the plot in comparison to the other books because it gives you a break from the action packed chapters and simply gives a lot of character build.

Performance is lacking

I’m really not a fan of the performance. While the story is a bit silly, the characters and themes are of a more serious nature. The voices used for the characters are whiny and immature. Bella, in particular, was insincerely read. So, given that she is the main character, it was a tough listen.

New Energy and Themes in An Old Idea

Certainly there have been many vampire stories and novels in the past, and certainly a fair number of these have involved romance between a vampire and a young female. Usually the vampire imposes imminent danger in the romantic relationship. This story puts a different spin on this idea and mixes in some Indian legends that spring to life and complicate the scenario. Bella is the young (18yr. old) female and Edward is her young vampire lover. This is a quick but compelling read.

Improved Performance and Story

I was really hesitant to listen to this book because the narrator drove me nuts in the first one. It is a bit better in this production which made the book not just bearable, but enjoyable.

Narrator is Such a Great "BELLA"!

Amazing, I am a big fan of the Twilight series. I especially enjoy the reading of Ms. Kadushin. The second book is such an emotional roller coaster and Kadushin does a great job at it and the others. I have nothing but praise for the story(s)and the reader! I hope they use her for the "Edward Version" of the Story"!!!!!
