Acerca de esta escucha

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I'm wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music.

Performed by Melody Muze, Yenni Ann, Wyn Delano, Anthony Palmini, Julienne Irons, Gabriel Michael, Eric Messner, Eva Wilhelm, Drew Kopas, David Cui Cui, Alejandro Ruiz, Chris Stinson, Colleen Delany, Karen Novack, Laura C. Harris, Jeri Marshal, Nicole Perez, Nanette Savard, Nazia Chaudhry and Christopher Walker.

Predictable & overly dramatic

Felt like twilight but not as well written. The music in the background made me feel like I was listening to a soap opera and a couple of the actors were really hard to listen to. It wasn’t bad but by the end it felt like I was listening to a bad version of twilight.

I love this series but

I love the series. I have the original audiobook, but love the full cast experience, however, not a fan of the extra sounds. i wish more than anything I could get the full cast without the dramatization noises. the original narrator for this series wasn't bad by any means but having each character have their own voice, I love more than any

The characters are epic

Have you heard of Tracy Wolff's *Crave*? It's seriously awesome! It's got this crazy mix of everything – dragons, witches, vampires, even gargoyles! And on top of all that fantastical stuff, there's a really great romance and tons of drama to keep you hooked. You should definitely check it out if you're into that kind of thing!

Not much.

First off, I generally don't write reviews, HOWEVER, I have seen so much advertising about this book series that I thought I'd take a chance on it. It was...repetitive. I felt like it was not only a slow burn, but that the author also repeated themselves and the storyline throughout multiple chapters and it got redundant. The other issue was maybe the casting for narrators in the Graphic Audio version. Yeeesh, it just seemed like some of the voices wouldn't match with a "high school" aged student. Macy's voice alone kinda made want throw hands and my phone several times, which may seem rude and I apologize, but it was like nails to my ears. Sorry. Not sure if I'm going to invest in more Audible credits into book 2 yet or not.

loved the actors who read the book

I loved the plot. It kept my interest. The suspense in each chapter kept me on edge. couldn't wait to hear the next chapter.

Queasy romance scenes

How can I put it? Some scenes are better left in “non-audio” format. I love a good paranormal romance, but even this has got me feeling the cringe when I have to hear oddly placed moans and grunts during make out scenes. It had me stopping at my desk- pulling my headphones out and laughing uncontrollably- that shouldn’t be a thing- yet- here we are. Lol, despite that, the story is fun albeit kind of Hogwarts meets Twilight campy. Not sure if I will get the rest on Audible. Might be better left to the imagination! ;)

Also the voice acting for Jaxon- wasn’t bad but I can’t get past how his voice which is from a much older man, doesn’t match that of a “hot” highschool vampire guy- it just doesn’t work for me. It’s like, Grace is dating a 45 year old dude, and I wished they gone with a younger sounding actor, like they did with Flints character. Just my two cents.

Surprisingly good

Started this because I wanted to hear Anthony Palmini’s voice (Rhysand) again but also got hooked on the story. Nice to hear other familiar voices from ACOTAR. The story is reminiscent of Twilight but better. Can’t wait to listen to book 2

It’s good but not great

I’m strangely obsessed with the original audiobook, like listened to it 7+ times atleast obsessed. This is good. But some of the voices don’t seem right to me. But I do like the variation.

I’ve listened to other audiobooks that are described as graphic, including sounds and such to bring the story alive, but this one for me… I don’t know. There was subtle piano music in the background almost the entire time unless it’s a cell phone buzzing or footsteps. Plus the occasional fight scene or romantic scene.

I don’t regret listening to it, but I don’t think I’ll repeat this one like I repeated the original.

Thorough

As much as I love to binge listen, I love that the single book is broken into two installments because it helps set the pace, and leaves more room for the story telling. Great book!! I love the twist, and multi-pov 🔥🔥🔥

Awesome!

Read the series and have really enjoyed going back through in the audio versions. Amazingly easy to get engaged and listen for hours.
