Publisher's Summary

One by one, people are mysteriously disappearing from a small Maine town.

Four months ago, a ruthless murderer killed two people and kidnapped three more, including Danny Sullivan’s sister, who barely escaped. Unfortunately so did the killer, vanishing without a trace into the vast wilderness. When the police fail to find his sister’s captor, Danny returns to Maine to hunt him down. He begins his search with another survivor, bed-and-breakfast owner Mandy Brown, but her refusal to cooperate raises Danny’s suspicions. What is the beautiful innkeeper hiding?

Mandy Brown has a secret. But sexy Danny Sullivan, his relentless questions, and the desire that simmers between them threaten to expose the truth - a revelation that puts her family in danger. As more people disappear, it becomes clear the killer is planning another ritual…and that he’s circling in on Mandy.

Decent story..top 3 of all-time narrators I think

Where does Midnight Sacrifice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I only post written info if the story or narrator "moves' me enough to do so. I think I'd listen to anything this guy narrates. He was perfect. Every character, male or female, was just right. He didn't try to be feminine and mess it up. He just made slight adjustments to tone.
This book was enjoyable as a listen (not just a read) because it it so well done.
Off to seek more by this narrator....

Hmmm..

Any additional comments?

297 good reviews compared to 24 bad reviews on Amazon. Go figure!!
I happened to have loved all three of these books. I really liked Danny and Mandy and I thought Bill was written very well. I was sorry about Jed. But I was glad for Ken and Hunter and the others. Nathan was just as sick as his uncle Aaron. I wasn't surprised about who his assisstant was. It's a good series..

As to the narrator: I definately had to skip over the love scenes since Mandy sounded so much like a man. And the narrator had no emotion in his voice at all. I couldn't possibly listen to him again. Sorry..

Great book under $10

It wasn’t until I started listening to Midnight Sacrifice that I realised it was part of a series and it wasn’t book one. Even though I am typically very picky about listening to all books in order and there were some references to book one, I did not feel lost in any way nor did I feel like I was missing key information so I would say this can definitely be listened too as a standalone book. There were enough teasers scattered throughout however that I am certainly going to be getting my hands on book one.

I loved this book, it had a little of everything, love, sex, suspense and I was kept guessing until almost the end. Melinda paints a vivid picture with her writing and you can easily identify with the characters and see yourself living among them. I planned to listen to just a few chapters before bed but - I just couldn't put it down, so much happens in this book emotionally I was a mess! there are more Sullivan's I wouldn't mind getting to know better.?

Ms. Leigh did a tremendous job of bringing the story to life. Her style of writing so was genuine and full of life that I felt like I had front row seats to the story playing out in front of me. All in all this was a fabulous story that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a bit of mystery with their romance.

Christopher Lane did a great job with the delivery of the story.

Slow and Steady to a crescendo

Where does Midnight Sacrifice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the middle. The story was a bit too slow in some parts and felt like something was missing but the performance was stellar. The narrator did a fantastic job.

If you’ve listened to books by Melinda Leigh before, how does this one compare?

Yes, I listened to Midnight Exposure by Melinda Leigh and I will say the first story was slightly better than the second but the performance in this audiobook out shined the first books performance.

Which scene was your favorite?

It's sad to say but my favorite scene was in Chapter 31 when all were saying goodbye to Jed. It had me tear up.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Once again I will say it is Chapter 31 when all were saying goodbye to Jed. It was very moving and well performed.

Any additional comments?

The narrator's performance of all the characters was impressive but even more so with the character of Bill. The speech pattern and mannerisms of person with mental development issues is pretty spot on. My nephew has autism and has the IQ of a 10 year old even though he's in his 40s and he has the same speech pattern and mannerism as Bill. So I think this narrator's performance was just impressive.

Midnight Sacrifice

A jolly good follow up to the 1st book in this series, although it could be read a s a stand alone. Saying that, all the book I have read of Melinda Leigh’s are all good. Thrilling, exciting and can’t wait to get to the end fast enough. Just the sort I like.
