Exquisite Beauty, Exquisite Misery

Exquisite Beauty, Exquisite Misery...a total confusion of a read / listen. Mac Bhriain is a dark specter / demon and Annora doesn't believe in the paranormal and for the most part is so innocent. I was a little disappointed in how naïve Annora was but loved her juxtaposition. Mac Bhriain was not as complex but had character growth. I loved the dynamic between these characters. Such a unique and interesting story line...I hope there is more to come!

Interesting in a good way

I really enjoyed this story. The narrator did a great job with the story and really kept me involved. The characters have been through a lot and their lesson learned is fantastic. I love their ending too.

Hotel with it all

Annora is going to a paranormal hotel because her mother will not leave her alone. She is against the Paranormal but doesn't realize it is all around her. The hotel rooms are based on your desires. She learns that she can not feel because her mother makes her repress her feelings. The characters had no chemistry and Annora always had a crazy response to the strange things happening around her.

Torture

It was torture just getting through with this book. The Demon sounded like a beer guzzling,3 packs a day bumb. And the girl,Enora...was just so wishy washy, one minute you couldn’t tell if she was reverting back to being 10 or back to her moral ,prudish,OCD ways. The whole story was just too ridiculous to really get into.I don’t think even reading it would’ve helped improve it in my opinion. The narrator was awful. And some how they thought to publish even more of these books about “Hotel Paranormal “.Some ones taste is all in their mouths.

Excellent audio book

Absolutely loved this book in audio format. It took me a minute to realize what was going on but after that it was smooth sailing. I love Calinda B. and her writing. It as an amazingly written book and great in audio too. To write a book with so much depth and so many different things interwoven is awesome. You are surprised at every turn in the book even having it read to you. I couldn't quit listening to it. I was so happy with this audio book. I highly recommend it. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thoroughly entertaining!

Unique, entertaining and humorous! I enjoyed listening to Meeting with My Maker on Audible. The narration was animated and kept my attention. The Hotel Paranormal is quirky and bizarre - this book is really a departure from even the typical paranormal romances, but it works. All of the characters are interesting in their own way. Mac Bhriain and Annora are quite hot together - a demon is the ultimate bad boy! I'm not typically an audiobook user - I generally prefer to read in ebook format, but I've been recently listening to audiobooks while working or doing other activities and this story lends itself nicely to multitasking. I'm quickly becoming hooked on audiobooks!

A very unique and an intriguing and odd story

This review is based on an audiobook that I received. It is an honest review and the complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

'Meeting with my maker: Hotel Paranormal' by Calinda B. is a short story of Annora Lachmann and Mac Bhriain McCarrion. This is audiobook one in "The Hotel Paranormal' Series. This series has 16 books already what are written by various authors. This audiobook is about 5 hours and 30 minutes long that does have a semi closed end.

The narrater, Jeremie Burbey has a nice voice. He is easy to listen to. I always needs to get used to someone voice, but in his case it didnt take long. His pronounciation is very good. The sound quality is also good. it was nice and clear. Jeremie Burbey's acting skills brought the characters to life.

Even tough I finished this book I'm still not sure if I like or dislike this book. I'm a bit in turmoil. I definitely find this book very unique and an intriguing and odd story. Not so bad of read, short story, intriguing characters, a bit of humor and a whole lot of strange that’s for sure. Wasn’t sure if the book was for me , it might be for you.

Mac Bhriain McCarrion, a shadow specter from hell that is trapped in the walls behind in Annora room. I would more likely say trapped in the mirror in Annora room. A demon of course with
Annora Lachmann is human who really didn’t realize all the secrets she carried around about her parents

The characters were great. I loved how Annora's character developed as the story went on and how David and the Hotel were always there for her, changing according to her needs, and all. David is very funny. I really like his dry humor. However, Mac Bhraian was my favorite. That freaking horny demon was unbelievable. His occurrences made me laugh quite a few times and Min.. Oh my goodness, that hell horse was so cute and funny I wanted to have him.

So, if you feel like reading a steamy paranormal short novel, you should give 'Meeting with My Maker: Hotel Paranormal' a try. You won't regret it.

Unique

I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a very unique story. At least, I've never read anything like it before.

I found the book itself quite difficult to get into - the characters are boring and the plot felt like it was literally just the two main characters having sex (there's a lot of sex and bdsm, the latter of which Annora didn't actually consent to before Mac started). Annora is actually a really boring character, who adores her father and hates her mother. I don't really understand why she hates her mother. I personally liked her mother as a character. Mac literally spent the entire book looking for sex.

That being said, I really enjoyed the concept of Hotel Paranormal and David. I also really loved the cover of the book.
