Publisher's Summary

Unspoiled by her beauty or wealth, Sarah Clarke travels an arduous journey by stagecoach to inherit the Arrow C cattle ranch left to her by the grandfather she never knew. However, the ranch foreman, a half-breed Indian called Storm, also claims legal ownership.

The rugged, impassioned young man arouses conflicting emotions in Sarah. Because her own father was killed by Indians, she is first frightened by Storm and his ranch hands. Yet fear quickly gives way to love as his tenderness and compassion stir her heart. Although Storm's kisses convince Sarah that he feels the same, he admits that he is betrothed to another. Infuriated, Sarah vows to stop Storm from entering a loveless marriage. But how?

Vividly evoking the danger and excitement of life in Texas in the 1800s, Forbidden Legacy is a captivating story of love, faith, and adventure.

Wonderful Legacy ๐ŸŒผ

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This story has grit, charm, and a lot of faith. It doesn't shy away from topics like racial prejudices and shows Christianity in an honest light. I especially enjoyed the character of Storm who is half Native American. I'm biased, however, because he totally reminded me of the love of my life who also happens to be half Native. This clean read is such a well written journey of life and love. I highly recommend. ๐Ÿ’•

The narrator read fabulously. Every character was spot on. Looking forward to more of his narration. ๐Ÿ‘

Loving someone you can't. . . .

Sarah Clarke finds herself inheriting her grandfather's Texas ranch. There are a few problems though, one she is a city girl, two most of the cowboys who come to escort her to the ranch are Indians and her father was killed by Indians, and three, the "half-breed" foreman also claims ownership of the ranch.

Storm knows that he is the legal owner of the Arrow C ranch, he just cannot find the paper that states that fact. He wants nothing more than to find the paper and get rid of Sarah until he meets her. His heart quickly falls for this beautiful blond city girl as well as most of his cow hands.

Together Sarah and Storm fight prejudices, a long trip full of dangers both animal and human. The biggest difficulty for this couple is the connection they have for one another even though they both want the ranch for themselves no matter what.

I really enjoyed this book! It is one of Barb's best! Leon Nixon did a great job telling this story and his characters were wonderful! I look forward to listening to more of his narrations!

Amazing story

Sarah has been told she inherited the Arrow C Cattle Ranch so she and her aunt are taken to her new home by a half-breed, Storm who has been running the ranch and who also thinks he has inherited it.
She has a fear of Indians and can't quite work out why she hasn't been attacked, scalped or even something worse by the ones she meets up with. Soon her attitude and understanding of them changes and she finds out for herself that they are a caring people.
Then she realizes that she has fallen in love with a man who is betrothed to someone else and the story tells of her utter frustration, newly acquired faith and handling of this awkward situation.
Throughout, Storm has been a pillar of strength and a very endearing person. Their relationship has changed and the feelings each has for the other grows and flourishes.
This amazing story of love and faith is written by Barbara Goss with such compassion that I felt quite emotional with each unfolding situation and loved every moment of it.
Leon Nixon was the perfect choice to narrate it and he was a pleasure to listen to.
An audiobook version was provided by the author at no cost and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Utopia

Author Barbara Goss does not hesitate to tackle the hard and forbidden topics. Here she takes on discrimination, specifically as practiced against the Native Americans in the 19th century. While somewhat Utopian in some aspects, the issues are spelled out clearly while the plot takes you on a voyage of eye-opening discovery. A couple of hours in the car with the kids shouting "Are we there yet?" is nothing compared to weeks in a stagecoach or wagon or on horseback (or even walking) crossing the vast expanses of countryside. And then there is the mystery of the missing will and the convoluted relationships.

Leon Nixon's relaxed narration [AUDIO] ably captures the vocal nuances of the various characters, adding to the drama and enjoyment of the adventures at the Arrow C!

Easy listen

This is a light, sweet, if a bit cheesy, listen. The narration was not great and I think it might have been the delivery that made it seem so cheesy to me. It's a nice story, though.

Enjoyed It

I got this book via audiobook boom and it is another good clean western story. It takes on the issues of prejudice, hatred, misunderstandings, and judging people because they are different. It is a story that could easily be set in 2017. We as Americans who proclaim to tell people to come are still such a divided world. The points driven home in this story that I enjoyed most was that in spite of everything God is in control and when we give Him control of our lives we can face anything. The narrator was very good and added to the story.

INSPIRATIONAL CHRISTIAN LOVE

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Normally I go for the steam, but I never rule out a solid love story. I don't think there's any doubt from the beginning that Sarah and Storm will find their HEA. It's their journey, sacrifices and faith that make the real story of overcoming ignorance and prejudice, leaving only Love.

A Great Clean Romance read by an excellent narrator!
