Look for E L James’s passionate new love story, The Mister, available now.

When unworldly student Anastasia Steele first encountered the driven and dazzling young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both of their lives irrevocably. Shocked, intrigued, and, ultimately, repelled by Christian’s singular erotic tastes, Ana demands a deeper commitment. Determined to keep her, Christian agrees. Now, Ana and Christian have it all—love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of possibilities for their future. But Ana knows that loving her Fifty Shades will not be easy, and that being together will pose challenges that neither of them would anticipate.

Ana must somehow learn to share Christian’s opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own identity. And Christian must overcome his compulsion to control as he wrestles with the demons of a tormented past. Just when it seems that their strength together will eclipse any obstacle, misfortune, malice, and fate conspire to make Ana’s deepest fears turn to reality.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

LOVED IT! Hope the movie adaptation is done better than the film for Book 1.

Good, but not great

What did you like best about Fifty Shades Freed? What did you like least?

I liked that it tied up all the loose ends and completed the trilogy (finished the entire story). (SPOILER ALERT!) Not crazy about how they become the all-American happy family - married with 2 opposite sex children. Seems a bit too "picture perfect".

What could E. L. James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I hate that James keeps using the same words or phrases over and over again - buy this woman a thesaurus! Also not crazy that she starts the book months ahead and has the characters introspectively remembering the past, thus filling the reader in on what happened earlier. She seems to do that a lot in this book.

Which scene was your favorite?

Not sure I had a favorite.

Do you think Fifty Shades Freed needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Nah. If she wrote one, I may just get the abridged version. As stated above, the incessant use of certain words/phrases drives me nuts. Also (as stated above) they become just too much a somewhat "normal" family.

Any additional comments?

Glad I read it, but glad it's over. On to something else - better written.

Do not pre judge from the stories you've heard

My sister said she wouldn't read this trash. It really is an excellent book. It's not trash or just smut.

Best romance ever!!! Book 3 perfect ending!

Would you listen to Fifty Shades Freed again? Why?

Absolutely! So much happened I know I can listen to it several times and still feel all of the emotions from Anna and Christian!

What other book might you compare Fifty Shades Freed to and why?

None! This is applicable to today's time and it honors the true romanicts flow!

What about Becca Battoe’s performance did you like?

She still makes Anna sound immature, but then in this book I understand why. It's because Anna is immature and naive when it comes to men and relationships so I guess the performance was spot on!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I stayed up all night listening to this book! Loved it!

The writing is slightly adolescent but the story and characters are addicting. It was difficult to pull myself away.

Compelling and sensual story; good narration

I've read reviews both good and bad on the whole 50 shades series of books and honestly it wasn't that bad at all. First I'll give you the bad.

E.L. James' repeated use of certain phrases bleeds through each book. For instance the phrase "Oh my" is ob

The love scenes save the series

The writing is pretty bad - the plot is predictable and the author needs a thesaurus for descriptive words because she uses the same handful of words over and over and over again. The female protagonist is described by other characters as being intelligent, but I fail to see that actually demonstrated in any of the internal monolog; in fact, the dialog throughout the trilogy is much the same--trite. The narration is OK, but I'm not sure if that's because of the narrator or the deficient writing. On the other hand, the love scenes are very tantalizing and plentiful, making the series worthwhile.
