Publisher's Summary

Karen Marie Moning's "Fever" series is a coast-to-coast hit! The first two titles in this national best-selling series, Darkfever and Bloodfever, appeared on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly best-seller lists.

In Faefever, Karen Marie Moning returns to the shadowy Dublin Otherworld in an undeniably sexy novel her fans are feverish for.

Changed by the choices she made in order to survive, Mac no longer is the naïve, idealistic, and glamorous girl newly arrived in Dublin. Now, on a quest to find her sister's killer, she is a major player in a deadly game, but with one great advantage: she knows how to find the one thing Fae and human alike are willing to kill for - the Sinsar Dubh, an ancient book of magic so dark it corrupts anyone who touches it.

What Mac soon discovers, however, is worse than she had imagined. Surrounded by treachery, her enemies indistinguishable from her allies, she can be certain of only one thing - as All Hallows' Eve approaches, her time is running out.

"Whoa! What just happened?! I think I'm hooked."

I'll be honest. At first I thought this would be a hyped book series. But I'm coming around after this book. Darkfever and BloodFever kept my attention, but I thought Mac was just going to be too annoying in her girly girl manner. She is funny and fiesty though. But I was buddy reading with a friend so I continued. And I'm glad I did. Midway thru this book, I started to see a Mac that was getting stronger, wiser, despite her damn pink nail polish fetish. I started to actually like her. And she could handle Barrons. Barrons is hard to get a handle on. I haven't figured him out yet. Most intriguing character. But what got me hook, line, and sinker, was the cliff-hanger ending. That has got to be one of the most powerful, erotic, disturbing, beautifully written endings I have read in a looooong time. It's like describing death and dying in the most exquisite and sensual of experiences. I'm taking a closer view now at KMM's writing style. Paying more attention. I think I just stumbled into one of those series that will stay with me and settle into my bones. It's just a feeling, so only time will tell once I continue reading more. And I want MORE.

    "Shocking ending"

if this is your first read through of this book, prepare to be shocked. You will not see this ending coming, and you might as well have the next book downloaded, because you'll want to get started right away. I'm exceedingly thankful that I found this series AFTER a lot of them had been written.
The next (in order) to read:
Dreamfever, Shadowfever, Fevermoon, Iced, Burned, Feverborn, and then Feversong (the last in 2017, and as of July 18th, 2017, not yet available in audio book).

    Happy listening!

    "Incomplete story!!!!!"
Would you try another book from Karen Marie Moning and/or Joyce Bean?

Not if they don't include the entire story

What did you like best about this story?

The twists and turns are actually quite riveting, which is the only reason why I bought the 5 books necessary to get the entire story. That still pisses me off! I could've read five stories for the money I spent in just one

What aspect of Joyce Bean’s performance would you have changed?

She completely lost the Georgia accent on Mac's character… I actually thought it was someone else reading. The male voice never used the Irish accent on Barron's character, sad. Some of the erie sounds made by the male voice are unnatural.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Faefever?

Everything duplicate from the first two books… If they had not divided this story in 5 books, they wouldn't have had to repeat so many things. Unnecessary fluff

    Any additional comments?

Really disappointed in the deceiving description on the website. It should be clearly stated that this is not a book by itself, you need to buy 5 books to get the entire story. Four people thinking this is a reminder take story, this is not it. It's a good adventure book, but nothing else. The male character keeps being an absolute prick, ther's no depth to it.

I will not write because I must. I do not like being told how many words I must use. Therefore I will not write this book.

    "Like series - hate narrator"

Narrator has exaggerated and fake southern accent. It's annoying. I wanted to listen to the book so a gritted my teeth and tried to ignore the irritation. As a lifetime resident of Mississippi, I am used to hearing southerners speak. This particular one just didn't do it for me.

"Ok on story, did not like performance"
Would you recommend Faefever to your friends? Why or why not?

The series is keeping me interested even though I thought the first two books were light on substance. I know other reviewers thought the third book lacked action, but I actually thought it was playing catch-up in adding to the lore of the Fae and the intricacy of the world's situation. So I was glad to be building a better story. But, sometimes I like taking a break from the action while hiding in the library or on a beach with a Faerie prince. :)

How could the performance have been better?

I didn't like the narrator for this book at all. The southern American accent was off and the Irish accents were worse.

"It's Mac and Barrons! Enough Said, I LOVE it!"

What more needs to be said for Mac and Barron fans, its a series that I love. I have it both in print and audio because I love it. This series is a re-listen yearly at a minimum for me. It's just that good. If you haven't read this series give it a try. It is different but sexy as all get out. Freakin' love me some hardlovin' Barrons, gosh don't ya just want to know what he really is????? I mean, heck, what women wouldn't want to tame that or die trying, LOL...... Mac she is one crazy, blond, beautiful bad butt chic that kills it all, even wants to kill Barrons at times, well death by lovin'........hmmmmm makes for some crazy angst.

    "Faefever Indeed!"

I love, love, love this series. The story line is intricate and interesting, even though it seemed drag a bit. The narrator is spectacular and perfect for the voice of Mac. Did i say I love this series? Apparently, the narrator changes for the next book and I'm a little apprehensive because she has some big shoes to fill.

    "Repetitive"

I felt like most of this book was just rehashing was had happened in the last two books. There was far too much looking back and not enough of a look forward, not enough movement in this one. I feel like this series of 5 could have been done in 3 books and therefore, think it's pretty unsatisfying overall. Still don't care much for the main character, but really interested in the male characters. I will continue to see how it all turns out.
