Excellent!

Loved everything about this book. The author did a great job with the main character, and I went on an emotional roller coaster ride through the whole book. The twists and turns in the plot were excellent and I devoured this book in a couple days. I wish the second book was available in audio format, but I’ll read it no matter what.

Wow

Was on a bit of a book slump and this one sucked me right in. I must have 140 books on my wish list and I just found this one and 💕😍 I cannot wait until the next one. The build up steam is good too. The narration was amazing. I have problems with sounds and can pick up little things that drive me nuts, but this was narrated very well. No issues for me at all

Immediately Hooked!

This book was recommended and I devoured it! It had a historical fiction feel, with queens and court life. It was filled with spying, lying, trauma, healing, redemption, twists and spice - I could hardly put it down.

Definitely well done by both the author and narrator. Give it a read!

Acotar meets Bridgerton and Nancy Drew- only better.

Oh my god!!! This was sooooo good. It’s giving ACOTAR meets Bridgerton with a smidge of Nancy Drew. I’m hooked.

Slow burn

The story is written beautifully with great twist and turns. It's a slow story, sometimes giving you a good eye roll to get on with the point. FMC isn't 100% my favorite in mental strength and has a lot of trauma, into book two she does grow into a stronger character. Hope by book three she becomes that character that dominates. Romances between the main characters is spicy, predictable but great to follow. Overall I look forward to book three to conclude the story.

Performance: FAMALE is fantastic, by book two they Include a male voice that wasn't necessary.

So good!

I often get bored half way through with many even highly rated fantasy/romance audiobooks. This held my interest the whole time. It wasn’t predictable, the characters were three dimensional and the spice was good without being over the top. This is the first time in a long time that I actually want to listen to the next book in the series. Highly recommend!

Outstanding story

I couldn’t put it down, this story was different than the ones im used to read. Im glad i took the risk. Cant wait wait to read the next one

Shadow daddy

I really got into the writing of ‘A Kiss of Iron’—it’s smooth and pulls you right in. But honestly, some parts had me wondering what was going on. Like, the bit about married women freely having affairs was a total curveball. While the romance definitely steals the spotlight, I’m holding out for some solid world-building in the next book, now that we’re heading into fae territory.

Now, about that uncle subplot—I just didn’t get it. Kat’s a tough highway robber and she’s got a strong fae dude by her side, so why is she scared of her uncle? And then there’s her insisting that Bastian shouldn’t hurt her uncle because ‘he’s family,’ even though the guy is a ruthless murderer. It just doesn’t add up. And the story with her sister—how does a queen just sit back and do nothing when her sister’s broke and stuck in a loveless marriage?

Also, Kat getting all mad at Bastian for keeping secrets when she’s been spying on him for cash felt pretty hypocritical. It was hard to feel bad for her there.

Despite these hang-ups, I’m still curious enough to see where the story goes. Hopefully, the next book picks up the pace and deepens the dive into the magical fae world.

Great series.

The female narrator did an amazing job on this series. The male narrator during the epilogue spoke with an uptake at the end of every sentence - so annoying!
