Publisher's Summary

Some feelings you just can't fight.

He is known as the Warrior Captain - a master of every weapon, a fierce soldier sworn to protect his kind. Powerful, relentless, merciless, Elijah has always won every battle he's ever taken on - until now. Ambushed by necromancers, he is left for dead only to be discovered by the woman who could very well deliver the final blow: Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen.

With three centuries of warring, little more than a decade of uneasy peace has existed between the Lycanthropes and Elijah's people. Now, after a lifetime of suspicion, the warrior in Elijah is consumed with a different battle - winning Siena's heart by giving her pleasure beyond all boundaries. What starts as attraction and arousal soon burns into a passion with consequences that will echo through the ages for both their people. And as would-be enemies become inseparable lovers, another threat approaches, one with the power to destroy them all.

Spend some more time with the Nightwalkers - if you dare.

What the Critics Say

"Both leads are strong, and Frank grants her hero a refreshing measure of insight into the relationship. What works even better is the camaraderie that develops between the Nightwalker tribes, as Frank plunges deeper into her dark world." (Publishers Weekly)

    "Xe Sands makes the series!!!!"

I have simply fallen in love with this series. What an amazing world Jacquelyn Frank has weaved for us. It's just simply amazing. I LOVED Elijah. Who knew the man who would joke and laugh with Isabella was such a fierce lover? YUMMY! I also loved the way he adapted to a situation that NO ONE could have expected. Sienna, I think rubbed me a bit of the wrong way in the beginning but I loved her by the end.

The fight between the nightwalkers and the necromancers and hunters also heated up in this book. I really can't wait to see what happens next. And I really want Ruth to get hers.

And once again Xe Sands has made this book for me. Her expert narration and wonderful voice interpretations from the accents to the inflections and intonations. She's amazing. It's a shame I can't get her to read all of my audiobooks. LOL

I'm now onto Damien, however, I must wait for the audiobook to come out later this month, because I don't think I can read the books now. I HAVE to listen to them on audio! :)

    "Read This, Don't Listen!"

This was my first book of the series that I read. Listening just made me lost. The sheer number of characters, different couples, and all their different powers was a bit much for me to keep up with. When scenes changed to other people it took me awhile to figure that out, because there wasn't a smooth transition as there would be if you were reading-page breaks etc. I managed to mostly just keep up with the main characters truthfully. I did know a few of the others, but not many. I would not recommend listening to this book, but reading it shouldn't be a problem. Thankfully, I got it on sale. The narrator was good except for her voice for the heroine. I really disliked it as the accent was pretty bad.

"Good Story to Tease the Paranormal"

I love paranormal stories and this book was right up there in the top 10. The different perspective of the nightwalkers and their abilities intregued me. The story intertwines characters from other books whicn peaks my interest to read more of them to find out what happens next. The narrator was very good with accents and tone, bringing the characters to life.

    "Elijah: Nightwalkers Series"

Light, easy to listen to. This was my first Nightwalker Series book. Great narration with different voices and accents. Interested in listening to other books in the series.

    "Addicted to this Series"

Another solid addition to the Night Walker series and I'm officially addicted. Be sure to start with book one for the best understanding of the ongoing plot. The action is fast, the romance tingly and the characters endearing.

The narrator's voice isn't my favorite but it didn't necessarily detract from the story so I was okay with it.

"Not as good as the others..."
Has Elijah turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes. I found the pace too slow and boring, and they spent way too much time in one location.

Did Xe Sands do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Not really. After a while all the male characters sounded the same to me.

    Any additional comments?

I really wanted to love this book. I've loved Elijah since I first read Jacob, but he became such a wuss, and I found the heroine super annoying. I actually enjoyed the Gideon part of the story a lot more.

    "Awesome book"

Elijah did not disappoint me. The quality of the writing was right in line with all the other "named" books in this series. Jacquelyn Frank continued her fantastic story telling. I would read all these books in order because the previous characters are mentioned in the books that follow. The characters are very distinguishable and their powers are each different. Love finding out what each of their powers does. You really get to know the characters. They leave such an impression it is not hard to remember them in the following stories. Wish these would go on forever. This review written by Lynn.

"too much review, still a good story"
    Any additional comments?

Frank spent a lot of time reviewing the previous stories, that got tiring after a bit. The story (inbetween the reviews) is strong and entertaining. New characters to love and to fear. Sands is just the best of narrators! Worth the credit and this book is important to the series.

"As good as Jacob, better than Gideon."

After Gideon's book I wasn't sure I was going to continue on with this series, it was so boring. But I wanted to read Elijah's story, especially since it has lycanthropes (my favorites) in it. Yes this book is better, more in the line of Jacob. So if you liked the first book you will enjoy this one too. I really liked the hair concept, of how it is a living part of a lycanthrope, kinda like a medusa. Overall I did enjoy this book. Although I'm not in a hurry to read the next, so I just might wait for a sale. As I have stated before Xe Sands is not my favorite narrator. It not her voice but her speed of reading that really gets me. If she would speed up just a bit, maybe she wouldn't put me to sleep. I might be in the minority here, but she is not my favorite narrator.
