Publisher's Summary

Morrow Little is haunted by the memory of the day her family was torn apart by raiding Shawnee warriors. Now that she is nearly a grown woman and her father is ailing, she must make difficult choices about the future. Several men - ranging from the undesired to the unthinkable - vie for her attentions, but she finds herself inexplicably drawn to a forbidden love that both terrifies and intrigues her. Can she betray the memory of her lost loved ones - and garner suspicion from her friends - by pursuing a life with him? Or should she seal her own misery by marrying a man she doesn't love? This sweeping tale of romance and forgiveness will envelop listeners as it takes them from a Kentucky fort through the vast wilderness to the west in search of true love.

Like a Warm Embrace ;-)

This is the first book by Laura Frantz that I’ve read and it most certainly won’t me my last. She definitely has the gift of story telling as well as an exceptional gift of writing with emotion. This story is gripping from the beginning and ends with an endearing sense of awe.

The characters are written beautifully and there is a “trueness” about them. These characters have faults, endure many hardships yet they don’t pass judgment on others. Instead, they put their faith in God to help them through any difficulties. The level of forgiveness that is shown in this story is overwhelming and begs us to question our own depth and ability to forgive others.

I don’t want to give the story away but this is more than just a romantic clean love story that transcends all boundaries. It’s also a tale of family love, friendships, faith, loyalties, and forgiveness. It’s heartbreaking yet triumphant…..like a warm embrace after a long battle. :-)

I enjoyed the narration. The accents and emotion came through wonderfully.

I highly recommend this to all Christians or people of faith. I will definitely be checking out the author’s other books.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, publisher for providing me this review copy in exchange for my unbiased review.

Indian Love Story.

What made the experience of listening to Courting Morrow Little the most enjoyable?

The history made it enjoyable for me. But this is a love story between a mixed blood and a white girl. They love each other and want to be together.

What other book might you compare Courting Morrow Little to and why?

I have read many books like this and each one is different in its own way. How the white settlers will not accept the indians or their children.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene that was my favorite was when Morrow was in the cave and Red Shirt almost gets shot.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried when she realizes who Lewis is. It is heart warming.

A riveting story of faith.

What did you love best about Courting Morrow Little?

I loved that throughout the story, no matter how hard things got, family and faith were a solid foundation and forgiveness was the ribbon that tied the story together. It was one of the best stories I've listened to in a long time, I stayed up much later than I should have waiting to see how it ended.

Who was your favorite character and why?

RedShirt had to be my favorite character, simply because I like handsome leading men, but Morrow's father's faith and ability to forgive was striking.

What about Laura Jennings’s performance did you like?

After getting used to her voice I was able to dig in and enjoy the various voices and accents that she used for the many characters in this book.

Potential but...

I couldnt stand the narrator. Sorry to say that, I dont like to leave negative reviews. Her voice was 100% wispery and it got to the point where I tried to speed up the story just to get through it. When that happens I know its time to quit, which I rarely do. The story seemed like it was going to be good, and maybe I'd read the book, but Audible was a bust!! The narrator really makes or breaks an audiobook. Broke this one for me.

Frontier Adventure Beautifully Told

What did you love best about Courting Morrow Little?

I really enjoyed listening to Morrow grow/mature throughout the story

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed all the details Ms. Frantz puts into the story. I could picture every scene and 'see' the characters in my mind's eye. Lovely!

Have you listened to any of Laura Jennings’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Loved Ms. Jennings in 'The Frontiersman's Daughter' and again in 'Courting Morrow Little'. I would have been greatly disappointed if she was unable to produced the second book. Thank you!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I do not know, but I would definitely love to see both of these stories made into film

Courting Morrow Little: A Novel

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”

I love a good historical fiction and this book fits the bill.We follow the journey of Morrow as she must make life choices that are far from easy. Her father is ailing

and wants to see her protected during the warring years. Several men show interest, from the fort commander that she loathes, an enlisted man and a half blood Indian

she loves but is forbidden by the times. The story moves slowly but steadily as her life moves. The descriptions of the landscape and characters bring them to life. Listen to find out the secrets that are hidden in the story.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Although, the whispery quality was almost too soothing and relaxed me to the point of dozing off.

Great story of faith

I got this book via audiobook boom. Faith is the key that unlocks the door to forgiveness. That was shown clearly throughout this story. A tragic beginning, an ailing father, a love that transcends everything including race and prejudice all come together in a well-written story that lost some impact because of the narrator. The lead character is a strong woman but the narrator's voice is so soft that it makes her seem weak. If the narrator had chosen to make the voice strong it would have helped the story.

Delightfully Unexpected Story

I am a complete sucker for a love story. Sometimes it's easy to feel like you've read (or listened) to them all. Courting Morrow Little was not like any other audibook I've heard in terms of romance- I fell slowly for the romance in the book, and was deeply invested in the characters, their will to survive, and their love and respect for each other.
