Publisher's Summary

The American Revolution is finally over, and Sophie Menzies is starved for good news. When her nearest neighbor, General Seamus Ogilvy, finally comes home to Tall Acre, she hopes it is a sign of better days to come. But the general is now a widower with a small daughter in desperate need of a mother. Nearly destitute, Sophie agrees to marry Seamus and become the mistress of Tall Acre in what seems a safe, sensible arrangement. But when a woman from the general's past returns without warning, the ties that bind this fledgling family together will be strained to the utmost. When all is said and done, who will be the rightful mistress of Tall Acre?

Love it! Book on faith, love and hope. I couldn’t put it down... my only regrets is that it wasn’t long enough as if 11 hours was short. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

One of my Favorite Authors

Laura Frantz continues to provide good stories that are descriptive, complex and well thought out. This is one of my favorites as it explores not only how complicated relationship can be, it sets in the revolutionary period of America and it's aftermath, bringing into focus the loyalties, patriotism, and consequences of the war.

Wow this was great!

Laura Frantz is wonderful at weaving a story that totally keeps you engrossed, and this one does not disappoint. The characters are well developed and interesting and the story has a great plot and some twists and enough romance to keep the listener engaged. It’s clean and faith based. The narrator does a great job too with enough distinction between the voices so that the listener knows which character it’s coming from. Worth a credit for sure!

The Mistress of Tall Acres

Just a wonderful story and Narrator. Started this yesterday and had to continue finishing it tonight. This is a new Author for me and so glad I did give it a try. Love Historical stories making me review our US details.
This just took many turns that I had never thought about happening.
Do hope that others will try this and find a new Narrator, Aimee Lilly. She is so good playing the parts of so many. One of the very best I will always remember.
