Publisher's summary

A novel of suspense, family ties, and twisted passions from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Obsession...

The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it's kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine's aunt, Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don't talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she's dead. But she isn't. She is not far away, part of a new family, one she never chose - and her mind has been shattered...

When a bartender leaves the resort late one night, and Bo and Cal discover her battered body in the snow, it's the first sign that danger lurks in the mountains that surround them. The police suspect Cal, but Bo finds herself trusting him - and turning to him as another woman is murdered and the Longbows are stunned by Alice's sudden reappearance. The twisted story she has to tell about the past - and the threat that follows in her wake - will test the bonds of this strong family, and thrust Bodine into a darkness she could never have imagined.

Excellent writing

Just enough suspense to keep u on the edge and details so you could see the cabin or the scenery

Awesome

This is vintage Nora Roberts. Her stories have the romance-which is a necessary part of any book in my opinion- add to that the mystery and suspense and you have an awesome read--or listen, whichever you prefer. E. Rogers did a great job of narrating, too. An all around success!

It was “okay”

I mostly love Nora Roberts’ books as her writing is just so brilliant. This book was good, but I wont necessarily listen to it again.

A great read

This book is one of Nora's best in recent years. I much prefer her standalone stories vs the mythical trilogies she's been churning out lately (all love Nora, just personal preference). The story dealt with tough subject matter, was emotionally charged and I liked that the relationship with Bodine and Cal just progressed naturally. No drama. Both were mature, neither needed convincing that being together is what they needed to be. This story very much focuses on the female bond of mothers, daughters, sisters and friends and if anyone follows Nora's blog, it reflects in her personal life too...her girls weekend getaways and cooking with her granddaughter translate in her writing.

Nora Roberts writes a good listen!

Fascinating storyline, a bit disturbing in its theme. My husband heard snatches of it and found it too upsetting. But I did not and really enjoyed listening to a story about a lifestyle and part of the world I don’t know much about. Very well performed as well. Recommended for a fairly short listen the carries you along with it.

Come sundown a beautiful title but that’s it

Story more for a teenager with narration bordering corny and hard to listen to because of its sexist attitude. Would not recommend for any age group.
