Publisher's Summary

Opposites attract in the third Ace Security novel from New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker.

Bailey Hampton will do whatever it takes to keep both herself and her little brother safe from the vicious Inca Boyz gang. Hiding out in Castle Rock, Colorado, is only a temporary solution until she can earn enough money to get out of the state altogether. But when she meets handsome security nerd Nathan Anderson, she discovers a reason to stay and fight for what she wants.

Ace Security's Nathan Anderson has always been the "numbers guy," not the man any of the firm's clients look to when their safety is threatened. But from the first time he ran into Bailey, she never made him feel like less of a protector than his brothers. Nathan was attracted to the petite, black-haired pixie with wild tattoos from the start, and by some miracle, she seems to return his interest.

But danger stalks Bailey and her brother, so it's up to Nathan to channel his inner alpha and find a way to end the threat to their lives once and for all - and he's not giving up Bailey without a fight.

Solid addition to a great series

I really enjoyed Bailey and Nathan's story. It was sweet, funny, sexy and had enough twists to keep you listening, It also lets you see what is happening to the other characters from the previous books. I am a Susan Stoker fan and have liked all of her series so I was glad this one was no exception. You will get the most out of it from starting at the beginning of the series, but this is fine to as a stand alone. On a personal note, I got some ink in my younger years I was not proud of so I totally identified with that story point.

Nathan has been searching for Bailey for months. Fate intervene and sends Bailey to help Nathan.

In order to put an end to the Inca Boys gang, Ace Security needs to find Bailey. After Bailey sees and helps Nathan start his unreliable car, she hands him her card from the repair garage where she works. On the other side of the card he is stunned to see the woman has written her name, Bailey. Positive she is the one he has been searching for he takes his car to have it fixed by her. He had felt instant attraction towards her and that feeling increases each time they get together. He takes an interest in Jole her 10 year old brother also. The poor kid has problems from the time he and Bailey spent with the Inca Boys and especially under the terrible control of Donovan the leader of the Inca Boys. Donovan has been paroled and it's no secret he wants his property, Bailey and Jole back. Along with the rest of Ace Security they set a plan in motion. Nathan is the kindest most sensitive man just what Bailey needs. He is also a great role model for her Jole. Enjoyed the narration.

Author needs a subject matter expert

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. If the author is going to have a strong female who is portrayed as super confident in her mechanic abilities and the male lead mechanically ignorant then Ms Stoker needs to know what she is talking about. A car does not run on the battery power. The battery is used to power the start up and then the engine is run off another source like the alternator. If your battery cables are corroded then the need to be cleaned before there will work. You do that first before assuming the battery needs to be changed. Also, generally, you take auto engine issues to a repair shop, not an auto body shop. All this was in the first chapter. I tried to go further but the book lost credibility and I couldn’t get back on board. Sorry.

Would you ever listen to anything by Susan Stoker again?

Absolutely. I have listened to a lot of her works and generally enjoy them.

Nerdy

A little long winded. Too much yacking, not enough action. I wasn't sure if I could make it through this book. Poor Nathan, made him out to be a total puss. Last few lines set up next book. Not enough to make me purchase it though.
