Publisher's Summary

Quit defending Christianity. Author Carl Medearis is not interested in keeping Christianity alive. Not one bit. Carl believes it has grown into something that is rarely attractive, frequently divisive, and all too often embarrassing. He believes you may feel this way too. In his new audiobook, Speaking of Jesus, Carl gives us a wink and a grin and the permission to stop feeding this thing called Christianity. His offer is that doing so allows us the freedom to relax and feast on Jesus.

Great Reminder of Spreading the Good News

What made the experience of listening to Speaking of Jesus the most enjoyable?

Medearis provides a very powerful and effective approach to breaking down the walls that are created by denomination, religion and all that man has done to disfigure the message of Christ. Simplicity in the message is the most powerful way to spread the Gospel.

Thought-provoking read

From the first paragraph to the final page, this book challenged me to think differently about Christianity and especially the way we evangelize. What I appreciated most is the way the author distinguishes between Christianity and all it's religious traditions, with simply following and obeying Jesus. There is a vast difference between what Jesus said and what Christianity has invented in using His name.

If still unsure, listen to the sample and I can almost guarantee you will download the rest of the book. I loved the stories he chooses to illustrate his points. After listening I have a whole new perspective on what it means to share Jesus with those in our midst.

Satisfaction of simple.

This was refreshing. I went to the same church for 50 years and then learned about the Holy Spirit and the life of Jesus. After knowing this, I wanted my money back. Truly, if we walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus, we will get the results like Jesus. Well explained. Press On!!!

Great book

As with all things, listeners/readers must "eat the meat and spit out the bones." However, I found that there was a lot of protein in this book. I found myself more empowered to not only love the person of Jesus Christ but to talk about him to nonbelievers and believers alike with hopes that they will also develop a love and trust for who he is and what he desires to do in our lives. Thumbs up, from me.

I love this book!!

This was my 3rd listen in as many years. Thank you, Carl, for writing this book. It speaks to my heart and makes me yearn for more closeness with Jesus and to follow him ever closer. Jesus, friend of sinners. My heart rejoices.

this will challenge your evangelism pyramid!

I have been so involved in systems and different 3 steps to soul winning programs that seemed to miss the point, it was refreshing and challenging to hear how the author brought everything back to following Jesus.

Break down your walls and share Jesus.

Would you listen to Speaking of Jesus again? Why?

Yes. I will certainly listen to certain portions of the book again.

What other book might you compare Speaking of Jesus to, and why?

It's similar to Carl's first book, but not focused on a certain people and much more talk of how to share Jesus.

What does Jim Sanders bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He adds some nice little touches, like pauses, hesitations and laughs.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Passion to share Jesus and deeper love for him.

Any additional comments?

Great book. Will help you be excited to share Jesus and makes it much simpler!

Inspiring, thought provoking and sobering

Great book. Challenging, inspiring, thought provoking and a sobering read. Bigs up Jesus but holds an uncomfortable mirror up at “Christianity”.
