A 2015 Christian Book Award winner

Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity in this expanded edition with new bonus content and reflections.

"My friend Nabeel Qureshi was courageous enough to chase down the truth with intellectual integrity, no matter the personal cost," (Lee Strobel, best-selling author of The Case for Christ)

Providing an intimate view into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi struggled with an inner turmoil that will challenge Christians, Muslims, and all those who are interested in two of the world's greatest religions and the quest for truth.

Qureshi - with great courage and intimacy - wrote this book with three major purposes in mind:

  • To tear down walls between two of the world's major religions by giving non-Muslim listeners an insider's perspective into a Muslim's heart and mind.
  • To equip the listener with facts and knowledge, showing the strength of the case for the gospel contrasted with the case for Islam.
  • To portray the immense inner struggle of Muslims grappling with the gospel, including all the sacrifices and doubts that rise up along the way.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus is more than the memoir of a man's pursuit of answers to the most important issues of life and faith. Ultimately, it's the story about the transformative grace and mercy of the one true God.

This edition has been expanded to include:

  • A revised foreword and introduction
  • A new afterword by apologist Mark Mittelberg and a reflection by Nabeel's wife
  • A substantially extended epilogue that shares how Nabeel told his friend David of his decision to follow Christ, how his parents found out, and more
  • Expert contributions from scholars and ministry leaders on each section of the book, contributions previously included only in the e-book edition
  • An appendix with a topical table of contents (for teaching from Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus)
  • An appendix tackling the objection that Ahmadi Muslims - the Islamic movement that Qureshi was raised in - are not true Muslims
  • And a sneak peek prologue from Nabeel's book, No God but One: Allah or Jesus?

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

INCREDIBLE!!! This book affected me greatly!!!

I honestly don't have the words to adequately review this book, or describe how greatly it affected me. I, too, grew up in a Muslim household and found Christ later in life. My family life was nowhere near as devout as Nabeel's. Rather than immersed in the Quran and daily Islamic prayer and study, my childhood was oppressed by the cultural implications and effects of a Muslim upbringing. As the oldest of six girls who lived in a vanilla Midwestern suburb (no boys) my father resented me big time. My childhood, especially the teenage years, were filled with abuse, neglect, strict rules to follow that made no sense, and the message that girls and women were unworthy of much. I struggled big time with our "cafeteria Islamic" faith, which basically consisted of not talking to boys, not eating pork, and not uttering the name of Jesus or celebrating Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter. It was a miserable existence, and after my disinterested father arranged a marriage for me at the age of 19 to a man twice my age that no one had ever met and who lived on the other side of the country, I left home to be on my own.

It wasn't until I was in my mid-30s that I found Christ. My experience was a more gentler, kinder discovery than Nabeel's. But so much of what he wrote about with regard to family dynamics, struggle against past beliefs, and the division Christian faith caused resonated deeply with me. Most profound for me were his revelations that despite all the hardship he went through, God made it known to him clearly that it "wasn't about you." Meaning, there is a bigger purpose in his salvation.

What an amazing testimony he gave! I listened nearly straight through, enraptured by every word. It affected me so deeply. It reminded me not to ever take a single blessing for granted. Today, I look back with awe at how much peace, blessing, success, love, and opportunity the Lord provided specifically to me, for me. For no other reason that my True Father in Heaven adores me.

I sobbed at the end of this book, so moved and humbled and grateful to have stumbled upon this book. It stayed with me a very, very long time, and I know it will continue to remain with me for many weeks and months to come. Most moving was the commentary at the end of the book by his wife, Michelle. I know she's aware of just how profoundly this book and Nabeel's story will impact the world. I so very much look forward to meeting Nabeel one day in the Kingdom of Heaven!!!

Understanding my Muslim Co-worker

I read this book to better understand and be able to work with my Muslim co-worker. It worked well for that reason. What I didn’t realize was how much it would boost my faith in Jesus and my desire to share that with others.

A life-changing book

I'll never again see Islam or Christianity the same. This is one of the most compelling cases for the Gospel I've ever experienced. Thank you Nabeel, I'm grateful for what you did for this world while you were here. Thank you David Wood, you both have opened my eyes.

Wow! Just wow!

I have listened to close to 50 books on audible, and I really appreciate it when there is a good reader. My favorites are those read by the author. This is one of those books. Through Nabeel, I learned so much about the Muslim culture that I was not even aware of. I love how he hungers and thirsts after the truth and how his story is brought to life through the passion that I can hear in his voice. He has piqued my hunger too and opened my eyes to some of the mysterious things of God and the Bible that I will investigate on my own. I plan to read or listen to his other books. This book was fantastic and I loved Nabeels story and the way he went about his journey.

Such a blessing & so sad too!

I’m recommending this wonderful book to my sisters and brothers in law! I’m very thankful to begin to understand the Muslim belief system as well as more of my own Christian beliefs. May God keep the Qureshi family close to His heart & in His mercy. My prayers will include them, especially his little girl now growing up without her precious daddy.

Great explanation of why Christians believe in God

I served a 2-year mission in Russia for the LDS church (Mormons) right out of high school. I’ve since graduated college and become a software developer. In general, the native Russian culture isn’t very open to Christianity since the church was used as a tool to manipulate their people for hundreds of years. Russian Muslims were some of the kindest and most willing to talk, and we had a lot of spiritual moments together. If a Muslim ever *did* want to get baptized, we had to get special permission and evidence that they wouldn’t ever return to a “dangerous” country for them per church policy. This author is so right: relationships are key. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Also, the spirit of contention isn’t of Christ. No one gets converted because of an angry argument about this point of doctrine or that. If you didn’t know, we believe the Book of Mormon is a record of Christ’s visit to the people of the ancient Americas after He was resurrected (sounds out there, I know, but if it’s true there are some amazing implications). We believe it 100% supports the Bible by essentially providing a second witness of Christ and his ministry. At the end of the day, the ONLY way to know that there is a God is if He reveals it to you through the spirit—which could definitely be through a dream, like this guy. We can and should study the scriptures as Jesus directs, but at the end of the day, it’s up to Him to give us a witness of their truthfulness, and it’s up to us to ask. If we don’t intend to act on the answer He gives us, why would He complicate our lives by giving us one? You don’t have to prove God exists. You can’t. That’s His job. Give Him the chance to do it for you personally. I personally have come in and out of solid belief a few times, and so far, I have always found my way back by following the verse Moroni 10:4-5 at the back of the BoM (and James 1:5) and praying to know if the Book of Mormon and its message of Christ is true—this is basically the standard invitation LDS missionaries leave to everyone. So far, I have always had some sort of spiritual, super personal experience I believe to be from God when I do this. I absolutely loved this book because it is a fantastic example of how God’s love is meant to be shared. He didn’t necessarily go into how the Gospel blessed his life after the fact, but it surely does. One way is by starting a personal relationship with Heavenly Father that you’ll benefit from the rest of your life. Another is having peace knowing that your fate is in His hands, and you are his child, and His plans for you are 100x more joyful than anything we can think of for ourselves with our limited understanding. Love you! Eric Riddoch

Good for learning about Christianity and Islam

Educational, entertaining, and a heart felt narration by the author. Good for a Muslim interested in learing about Christianity or a Christian interested in learning about Islam...or any one who wants a perspective on both in one book.
