Publisher's Summary

2008 Retailer's Choice Award winner!

Tony Dungy's words and example have intrigued millions of people, particularly following his victory in Super Bowl XLI, the first for an African-American coach. How is it possible for a coach - especially a football coach - to win the respect of his players and lead them to the Super Bowl without the screaming histrionics, the profanities, the demand that the sport come before anything else? How is it possible for anyone to be successful without compromising faith and family?

In this inspiring and reflective memoir, Coach Dungy tells the story of a life lived for God and family - and challenges us all to redefine our ideas of what it means to succeed.

Includes a foreword by Denzel Washington.

excellent in unexpected ways

If you could sum up Quiet Strength in three words, what would they be?

humble powerful unassuming

What did you like best about this story?

dungy's humility. His dependence on God's strength. His desire to see others know Him.

Which scene was your favorite?

setbacks that led to success over time and with patience

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

but there is a chapter that is one of the most powerful I have 'read'. i'm glad to be able to hear Dungy speak the words. Adds another layer to how profound his story is.

Any additional comments?

highly recommend. Dungy is not the most emotive reader. Deal with it and be patient.
