Blinded as a teenager, Jennifer overcame daunting obstacles, found strength in God, and launched a successful speaking and writing ministry. Then in her 40’s, everything changed.
LysaTer Keurst knows what it means to walk in faith, starting from the cry she uttered years ago - "How do I take my broken life and allow God to use it for his glory?" - to her current position as president of Proverbs 31 Ministry. Lysa's new book is filled with stories, Scripture, and encouragement for listeners to discover the deeper truths of God. As a bonus, Lysa has provided a Bible study section to help listeners apply the principles in What Happens When Women Walk in Faith.
Do you feel that the ability to hear God's voice is for other people and not for you? Is it only for people who lived in biblical times? Not at all! The god who loved you enough to die for you loves you enough to talk to you. And wherever you are in your spiritual walk, God will find a way to speak to you in a way you will understand.
Keep It Shut by Karen Ehman explores how to better control your tongue, knowing what to say and how to say it, and realizing when it is best to say nothing at all. From Bible times to modern times women have struggled with their words. What to say and how to say it. What not to say. When it is best to remain silent. And what to do when you’ve said something you wish you could now take back.
The enemy wants us to feel rejected, left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ's powerful love. In Uninvited, Lysa shares her own deeply personal experiences with rejection - from the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father to the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over.
You can reach your healthy weight goal - and grow closer to God in the process. This is not a how-to book. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose.
Worship leader and recording artist Laura Story's life took an unexpected turn when her husband, Martin, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Their lives would never be the same. Yes, with God all things are possible. But the devastating news was that no cure existed to restore Martin's short-term memory, eyesight, and other complications. The fairy-tale life Laura had dreamed of was no longer possible. And yet in struggling with God about how to live with broken dreams, Laura has found joy and a deeper intimacy with Jesus.
Anxiety is at an all time high, but there's a prescription for dealing with it. Max Lucado invites listeners into a study of Philippians 4:6-7, where the Apostle Paul admonishes the followers of Christ, "Do not be anxious about anything...." Philippians 4:6 encourages the believer to "be anxious for nothing". As Lucado states, the Apostle Paul seems to leave little leeway here. "Be anxious of nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero."
Paul’s letter to the Romans is arguably the greatest ever written. With these 225 messages, Piper preaches through the book - verse by verse, phrase by phrase - faithfully pointing listeners to Christ and the gospel. “The glory of Christ seems more glorious to me now than it ever has. And there is no greater exposition of the Gospel of God than the book of Romans.” (John Piper)

We all want to know exactly what we were made for. Yet a calling feels like something for an exclusive few. You Are Free by Rebekah Lyons reminds us that God has plans for each and every one of us, and that abiding in God's presence is how we run free.
Interruptions: They're aggravating - sometimes infuriating. They make us want to tell people what we think of them. But how we handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. The prophet Jonah's existence was interrupted by a call of God that would require a complete change of life. And it scared him enough to make him run in the opposite direction. Yet, what seemed to him to be an unnecessary and useless interruption was really an opportunity for Jonah to be involved in something the likes of which the Old Testament world had never seen before.
Author Jennifer Rothschild has a story for you. It's about an unlikely couple, an unusual courtship, a beautiful wedding, and an illicit affair. Despite this situation, the marriage did not fail. It flourished. Here is the story of Hosea's love for Gomer - a woman who might have disappeared into her transgressions if not for the love of her husband. It's a beautiful illustration of the story of God and Israel.
Believe it or not, it's your story, too. God chose you and loves you.
If you wander off, he will find you.
If you are afraid, he will reassure you.
If you are broken, he will restore you.
If you are ashamed, he will cover you.
If you give up on him, he will not give up on you.
No matter where you are, God sees who you are and loves you faithfully. Through the story of Hosea and Gomer, God tenderly reaches out to you and whispers, "My daughter, my name and nature are love. My name makes you lovely. Because I am worthy, I make you worthy. I am here to remind you of who you are. You are never invisible to me."
I really enjoyed this book, my only regret is that I didn’t read it 20 years ago as a younger woman. But just like the story presents, you can return to the lover of your soul and be restored. I specially appreciate it the explanation of idols an being an I-ddict! What a great parallel!
