Timely read!!

I've been subscribed to Sharon Jaynes' email devotions for some time now and I've always enjoyed her relatable and practical style. I was blown away by how much this book related to what I, and so many others I know, have been dealing with. Applying Biblical principles and explaining them in a way that allows you to see how God's promises are applicable to your own life. Even more, I was amazed at how she took some very simple conceptual approaches to help you differentiate God's promises from the lies of the enemy. Definitely, recommend this to anyone interested in transforming your thinking and restoring your confidence in who you were created to be.

Couldn't get over the narrator

I listened to the audio book. I couldn't get over the fact that the narrator used a lower fake voice when the words were a man speaking. The content is great. I will probably get the book and read it.

Narrator

It was painful listening to this being read. It’s read as though children are listening. I’m not a fan of altered voices for various “characters” and it was quite distracting. If you don’t mind that then I say purchase the audio version. I’m on my way to purchase the book to read myself. :)

This book got into my head!

This book got into my head and helped me to identify the negative self-talk and replace my thought with positive thoughts. I learned to recognize the lie, reject the lie, and replace it with the truth. I wasn’t a fan of the audio book due to the tone of the reader’s voice. She tried to use a deep voice at ties when referencing a male. It was annoying. However, the material was great. The book helped me to rebuild my confidence.

Audio is tough to listen to

The book might be great, but I'm having a hard time getting through it because of the audio. The woman reading this book does weird things with her voice anytime she's quoting someone, especially quoting men. It's quite distracting and rather annoying.

Fantastic!!! This is exactly what I needed to hear in this time of my life as I grow in my faith. I will be listening to this a lot, especially on those down days.

Thank you so much Sharon for writing this and Susie for narrating!! I have since shared this book with my sisters and girlfriends. I wish there was a version of this book that I could provide to my brothers, father, and nephews.

Enough!

Excellent book and I highly recommend. However, enough of the narration of scripture in another vocal tone. It was super distracting. My recommendation is to just read the scriptures as you would the rest of the book.

Confirming words!

I appreciate the words in this book. Affirming words that I needed to hear. I related to every lie and grabbed tightly to every truth. I thank you for sharing your truth in humor and transparency. It wasn’t just me who felt this way even as I knew Jesus.
