Publisher's summary

Little girls know about Cinderella, about her breathtaking beauty, about Prince Charming, about a magical destiny called "happily ever after." And inside every woman is a little girl who secretly aches for a fairy godmother to wave a wand and transform her into the princess she has always longed to be—to make her beautiful, captivating and adored.

But we've learned that fairy tales aren't real, and so we squelch our precious gifts of longing and desire. We stop dressing up or anticipating the ball, deciding it's better to stay home than to hope again and be disappointed. Besides, being asked to dance isn't all that important anyway.

Oh, but it is!

In Do You Think I'm Beautiful? Angela Thomas invites you to awaken your passion and glimpse your deepest desires, to voice your longing to be loved with an ultimate love. And to fall into the embrace of the One who asks you to dance.

Critic reviews

"A title like this leads a reader to think that this will be a book about body image. However, it's more about understanding beauty and acceptance in the context of God's unconditional love, a poignant message that many women will appreciate. 'A good man can be wonderful,' writes Thomas, a motivational speaker and mother of four. 'But he can never be ENOUGH, and he can never make you WHOLE. You and I were made for even more. We were made for God.' Although some readers may balk at the gender essentialism that drives this book (women are "wired" for relationships and beauty, etc.), Thomas spins compelling anecdotes from her own experiences and the lives of others. She builds a persuasive case for God as a pursuing lover who delights in each one of his daughters, even when they feel unlovable. She speaks honestly and with cutting humor about how Christian women appear to be all smiles, but 'are dying on the inside.' She also does an especially fine job of drawing on the prodigal son parable from the New Testament to demonstrate that although women sometimes feel like the prodigal and sometimes like the unappreciated elder son, God is waiting to receive them with open arms." Amazing book!

Angela is funny, deep, and truly has a heart for God. This book does not disappoint! She truly gets to the heart of every woman- why we desire the things we do in this life and how only God can provide the things we long for. She does an amazing interpretation of the prodigal son story as well and how it applies to our lives. Every woman needs to read this book and learn to dance in the arms of God!

Read it if you doubt that God finds you beautiful

Great book, and not too long. The narrator is really good too. It sounds real.

Meat for the Mature

Not fluff. Meaty for the mature Christian woman who wants to delve into her relationship with God. I learned of the author through an audio devotional and went in search to see if she had any books. The title almost turned me away. I was hoping this book was not a surface-level approach to beauty in Christ. Angela Thomas did NOT disappoint! I prefer to study Scripture inductively and prefer to answer the questions the Holy Spirit is asking of me rather than the generic prescribed questions in a study guide. This book is raw and vulnerable and allows the reader to challenge herself and her spiritual growth while growing and being encouraged through the author's sharing. Definitely needed something like this for myself and in the arsenal of Christian books. It drew me closer to God rather than to a new author.

Wow, Do You Think I'm Beautiful is a worthy read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it touches the heart and heals emotions

What was one of the most memorable moments of Do You Think I'm Beautiful??

There were so many, but the dance and the testimony of her sister's death are the first two that come to mind.

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

N/A

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Do You Think I'm Beautiful??

God does see us and loves us. We forget that sometimes because we forget to look for him.

Any additional comments?

Thank you Angela for this book.
