Publisher's Summary

Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you'll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

Nights at Seaside by Addison Cole is the "sweet edition" of New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel Seaside Nights. The stories and characters remain the same, and convey all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

In Nights at Seaside...Sky Lacroux has finally realized her dream and opened her own tattoo shop in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She’s happy as can be, preparing the shop for its grand opening and renting a cottage in the Seaside community while renovations to her new apartment are being completed. The only thing missing is the one thing she longs for, and has no control over - love.

Sawyer Bass, a professional boxer, plays his guitar at a local bar to escape the painful reality of his father’s deteriorating health and a recent health warning of his own. But when he spots a stunning brunette across the room, escaping reality goes out the window, and the beautiful woman becomes the focus of his next song - and maybe even the rest of his life.

When Sawyer walks into Sky’s tattoo shop and sees the woman from the bar - Sky - the chemistry between them is instant. Sawyer is everything Sky could ever hope for in a man. He’s honest, loving, sensitive, and potently virile - but boxing goes against everything Sky believes in. The closer they become, the more she realizes that her alpha boxer is waging his own emotional battle - only the battle she thinks he’s waging isn’t the one that threatens to tear them apart.

All Sweet with Heat novels are written to stand alone, so dive right in!

Who Doesn't Love a Man Writing Songs for Them?!

Adored Sawyer and Sky's book in Nights at Seaside by Addison Cole!

Sky is getting ready to make one of her biggest dreams come true, owning her own Tattoo Shop! She's been working so hard to make that dream come true, but she is also worried that she'll never find the love she's always longed for. When Sky hears Sawyer sing at open mic night, all bets are off. Sawyer is instantly drawn to Sky and needs to find her anyway he can.

When Sawyer walks into Sky's shop, all bets are immediately off. These two are attracted to one another right away, but Sawyer's profession goes against everything that Sky believes in. I LOVED how Sky wasn't afraid to stick to her convictions, and knew what she wanted. It really endeared me toward her. It made her seem very realistic, because I too struggle with people choosing to fight professionally. Listening to these two characters work through their struggles together was addictive. I loved how well they complimented one other, and they really did show that no one is perfect. And who doesn't want a man like Sawyer writing music for them and pouring his heart out?

Loved this book, and the audible version was even better than the print book!

Lovely

Well, this was more than I expected.

Here we have Sky and Sawyer, they meet just out of sheer luck, lol. He see her across the room and the again at a tattoo parlor. Talk about fate with these two.

Anyway, even though there is attraction between them, Sawyer is had a lot on his mind, and not just regarding himself, but also about his father. I truly ached for him, I wanted to hug him. What he did was dangerous, but for the right reason, imo.

Sky is open to love, but Sawyer being a boxer is a huge no-no for her, which I get, but putting herself in his situation would be best. I loved her view on life, optimistic and full of beauty.

There were ups and downs for them, they both needed to let go of things and also embrace new ones, which I loved. They so deserved their HEA.

I also listened this as an audiobook, and it was just as lovely. The narrator really showed the spirit of Sky, which made this an appealing listening.

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

Nights at Seaside

Everything is going good for Sky Lacroux. She's just about ready to open her own tattoo shop in Provincetown, MA. While the renovations are being completed, she's living in Seaside with the rest of her friends. There's very little missing from Sky's life. Well, that is, except for love. All that's about to change when she hears Sawyer Bass sing at an open mic night. His words speak to her soul. When they actually meet when Sawyer shows up at Sky's shop for a tattoo, they hit it off immediately. Then Sky learns that singing isn't his main profession. He's also a professional boxer.

Sawyer Bass has to remain focused on winning his next match in order to secure the funding required to care for his father ailing father. He doesn't have time for distractions. But when he meets Sky he knows that what they have is more than a distraction. That is, if he can get her to see past the violence of his job.

As always, Melissa Moran does a wonderful job with the narration. Especially here where we've begin moving past the original main characters of the series and into a new string of characters all ready for their own stories.

Readers (or listeners) of the series will know Sky as a secondary character in the last few books, and I think we've gotten a pretty good idea of her character already.

That's why, for me, Sawyer really was the highlight. I loved the dual sides of Sawyer. The tough fighter, and the soulful singer. Although the way Melissa Foster presents each facet of himself, you see that they are one and the same. You can be both tough and sensitive at the same time. It's not an either or situation.

The predicament that Sawyer finds himself in - that of fighting for his father's health, yet doing so causes Sawyer to overlook his own health - is another duality that Melissa Foster deftly deals with.

As much as I enjoyed revisiting all the previous main characters and getting updates, I enjoy seeing the potential new characters whose stories we'll, hopefully, get in the future. I know Sky's brothers for sure are in the mix, as well as Sky's best guy friend Blue. No matter how big the cast grows I like that it's always grounded in Seaside (at least for now). I did feel like Sawyer and Sky's story moved readers a little past Seaside, but I feel like we're never too far away.

So glad to get to know Sky better

I loved listening to this audio book. I mostly listen in my car but with Nights at Seaside it made me not want to get out of my car! Through out the other books with Sky in them, she was kind of a filler character but in Nights at Seaside she was the main character and i was really glad to learn more about her. Sawyer was also the perfect match for her in every way but one. To see such a big strong man that can melt your hearth with his words was refreshing. The way "Addison" can make her characters more real in there thoughts and actions is one of the main reasons i love her books.

A free spirit and a boxer - will it work?

Sky has finally realized her dream of owning her own tatto parlor - as the free spirit of the family it is the perfect thing for her. While tattooing she had come to tattoo quotes that she has attributed to the P-Town Poet.

Sawyer is a professional boxer who has one last big fight left and will then retire as he should have everything he needs financially to take care of his dad. In typical Sawyer fashion he decides he needs to add some ink to his collection and happens upon Inky Skies and Sky’s tattoo shop.

Read the heart-warming story to find out whether Sawyer and Sky are able to build themselves up together or tear themselves apart. You will really enjoy this new member of Seaside and the free spirit vibe and love of poetry that Sky brings to the story. The push and pull of the free spirit and the boxer throughout the novel is wonderful.

Melissa Moran does a great job of narrating and bringing the angst and love to life.

You will not be disappointed if you choose Nights at Seaside.

Great Story!

Sky Lacroux first sees Sawyer Bass at a night out with her friends and Sawyer sings this amazing original song he had written while Sky is reading a book of poetry. Fast forward and who walks into her tattoo shop but Sawyer Bass. Their chemistry is off the charts from the moment they meet. He notices her poetry book and he ends up asking her out. He tells her that his father is her favorite poet, C.J. Moon. They have an amazing evening but Sky finds out that Sawyer is a boxer and has issues with that. They also realize that they both have issues from the past they are dealing with, Sky with the death of her mother and Sawyer with the slow decline of his father from Parkinson’s’ disease. Sky Lacroux and Sawyer Bass, these two are amazing people individually but once they find each other they’re complete. They definitely want to be together but Sky needs to come to grips with Sawyer’s boxing career. These two continue to be together and Sky and the “seaside gang” and their friends go to watch a sparring match with Sawyer and another boxer. Things seem great until the other boxer gets in a cheap shot and it leaves Sawyer and Sky at odds. They circle back to each other and Sawyer has made a couple big life decisions and they finally move toward their HEA. In addition to Sky and Sawyer our seaside friends had a couple new babies to add to the family and more babies will be joining us down the road. I really liked this book because it kept going back to “made of the same cloth” and “destiny” and her store she named after part of her favorite poem which is actually one of Sawyer’s dad’s poems. I loved the line “You and I wear the scars of our lives in words and symbols.” This was an audio book narrated by the consistently great Melissa Moran. I always appreciate listening to books by Melissa Moran because I know she does an amazing job each and every time and this book was no exception. I was touched by this audio book because of the subject of Sawyer and his dad’s illness and I felt more connected to the story while listening to Melissa Moran narrating it.

Perfect emotional match!

Sky and Sawyer = all the feels! The latest dose of Addison’s Seaside stories does not disappoint. I’ve gotten to know Sky through the earlier Seaside books and was looking forward to her story! Sawyer seems to be a perfect match for Sky in pretty much every way except for one…he’s a boxer. Sky has a hard time wrapping her head around someone fighting as a career, especially, sweet, sensitive Sawyer. Sawyer just wants to do right by his parents and help get his ailing father the help that he needs.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sky and Sawyer’s story after reading it when it was first released in print. It is also gave me another chance to catch up with the rest of the Seaside gang!

Great listen

We met Sky in Pete and Jenna's story, she is a free spirit glad to be back on the Cape. While on a night out with the Seaside ladies she gets her first glimpse of Sawyer Bass. He is a boxer and poet, loyal to his family. When they meet there is an instant attraction. They are drawn together by their love of poetry and the strong family bonds. When she learns of his fathers illness she begins to understand his need to box, even though she doesn't like it. When this threatens to tear them apart they both realise they have some hard decisions to make. Loved the narration by Melissa Moran.

Beautiful

We've heard about Sky for a while now, due to her being Pete Lacroux little sister, and it is lovely to hear her story.

Having returned to Provincetown to help her family, Sky is now branching out on her own and opening her own Tattoo Parlour. Things are going according to plan with Blue helping her with the renovations. Now having been home and seen her friends and her older brother, find love and happiness, Sky realises that this is the one thing missing from her life. Unfortunately she has neither control over her heart or time to look. Things change, however, on a night out with friends.

Sawyer Bass is a guitar playing professional boxer. Sawyer is coming up for his last fight and he's hoping that this one will enable him to retire and give him enough winnings to help support his fathers deteriorating health. No matter how much they both feel the instant chemistry, Sky struggles with reconciling the boxing side of Sawyer, with the calm, poetic, caring side of him. As they become closer, they each have battles to overcome if they stand a chance for a happy ever after.

Yet again, a beautifully written story with some strong, emotional storylines. You can really feel for the characters in this book.

Nights at Seaside

This is the sixth book in Addison Cole's 'Seaside Summers' Series and it was definitely one of my favorites.

Sky Lacroux has reached the point in her life when she wants to fulfill her dreams and start her own business in the form of a tattoo shop. It is a sweet and unique addition to the already budding Provincetown. She is quirky, carefree with her own unique style and she fits right in with the other Seaside girls.

Sawyer Bass is your typical alpha male who is a professional boxer who has a softer hidden side that composes songs and has a way with words. He is brooding and handsome and is instantly taken with Sky when they lock eyes across a crowded bar. However, there is just one catch...she is against boxing.

Despite the battles Sawyer faces in the ring, he is attempting to conquer a battle within himself as he is forced to decide between retiring from boxing or fighting one last match in order to win funds to help his ill father. The even bigger secret is that he fails to tell Sky the real impact it could have.

Like all of Cole's books, the subject matters are relatable and real and written beautifully to perfection. You will instantly fall in love with Sawyer and his romantic poetic words, and you will revel in being reunited with your favorites from previous Seaside Summers books.

This book is a thoroughly enjoyable read and one that I can promise you will be unable to put down. It can be read as a standalone novel or as part of a new series, either way, you will become a fan.

I also listened to this as an audiobook, the narration was clear, emotive and didn't take anything away from the story at hand. It was the second audiobook I have had the chance to listen to, and I would recommend to anyone who has a busy lifestyle. I love how the narrator switches between the character and tone suits the emotions that the characters are feeling/ expressing. Well worth the read or listen.

Sweet and Emotional......

Another sweet and emotional audiobook by one of my favourite authors.

Sky is so sassy and independant and loves being a tattoo artist and when she realises her dream of opening her own tattoo parlour she realises there is only one thing missing from her life, love. Seeing her friends falling in love so deeply has her wanting some romance in her own life, then she meets Sawyer, the man she can't stop thinking about.

Sawyer has a lot going on in his life, his own health problems but also worrying about his fathers health and boxing and playing his guitar is his own way of escaping reality and burying his head in the sand to an extent, until he meets Sky the sassy tattoo parlour owner who he want to know more about.

Their love is so beautifully portrayed, it makes you realise that true love can sometimes help you through some of the most difficult times in your life.

Another brilliant audiobook by an amazing author.
