Publisher's Summary

A sinister phone call in the middle of the night throws tearoom owner, Gemma Rose, straight into the heart of a new murder mystery - this time with her friend, Seth, arrested as the key suspect! The mysterious killing in the cloisters of an old Oxford college points to a bitter feud within the University - but Gemma finds unexpected clues popping up in her tiny Cotswolds village.

Meanwhile, her love life is in turmoil as Gemma struggles to decide between eminent doctor, Lincoln Green, and sexy CID detective, Devlin O'Connor...whilst her quaint English tearoom is in hot water as she struggles to find a new baking chef.

With her exasperating mother and her mischievous little tabby cat, Muesli, driving her nutty as a fruitcake - and the nosy Old Biddies at her heels - Gemma must crack her toughest case yet if she is to save her friend from a life behind bars.

    "I loved it"

This was the first book by H.Y. Hanna that I have listened to. I thought that Pearl Hewitt did an exceptionally good job with her performance of the various characters. I would classify this listen as a cozy mystery to me instead of nail bitter. I enjoyed the story. I especially loved the kitty antics and the way they were performed. Pearl Hewitt is very talented. This book is part of a series and I found it to be a good standalone. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it.

    "Very Entertaining"

I really enjoy this series. The story is fresh and entertaining. There is lots of suspense and drama. The romance does not over shadow the mystery. These books are like candy for the brain.

    "Narration makes the story"

I enjoyed this book and did not spot the killer until the very end. The only negative is when the narrator "meows" for the cat. For some reason it sets my teeth on edge - and I like cats? Just a personal quirk.

I got irritated with the slowness of the protagonist's brain. The narration was very good.

    Story
"Best book yet in this series!"
Would you listen to Two Down, Bun to Go again? Why?

Yes, absolutely! It was a lot of fun to listen to. The story is engaging, the characters likeable, the setting charming. The reader's style was excellent as well. Listening to it is like taking a weekend trip to the Cotswolds!

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoy the humor, the plot, and the characters. While there are some really funny moments, there are also some serious themes (such as helping the homeless) that are very relevant, making this book more than just entertaining - it makes you think, as well. As for the characters, they are funny, they care about each other, and they are people I'd like to know. I will say, in real life, I don't think the police would behave QUITE the way Devlin does at times! But overall, the characters are very realistic and likeable.

Which character – as performed by Pearl Hewitt – was your favorite?

Gemma Rose, the spunky, resourceful, main character, is my favorite, with Muesli the cat coming in a close second! Pearl Hewitt does a great job of giving the different characters individuality through the voices. Her Muesli voice is classic!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh several times! It also moved me, and stirred compassion as I read about the plight of the homeless. At times I was so involved in the story I made comments to the characters too. It really drew me in.
    It also made me hungry!

    Any additional comments?

I love this series, and each book seems to get better and better. The mystery kept me guessing till the end, and there were some interesting side stories going on as well. Gemma's mother's trip to Indonesia is a hoot! The book has some great humorous moments, and some suspenseful and exciting action packed ones too. The setting, in Oxford and the Cotswolds, is charming, and makes me wish I could visit. The hint of romance adds to the charm of this series.

"Another great installment in The Oxford Tearoom Series"

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. I had read this title on my Kindle but do live the audio book format. The pairing of the narrator to the authors story truly enhances the read! I loved the addition of new characters, such as Dora. It was nice to see familiar characters up to their old antics, such as the Old Biddies and her Mom too. If you have t checked out this series yet, I highly recommend it.

Disclosure: A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

"Good story but not for me"
Would you listen to Two Down, Bun to Go again? Why?

No, I think this story would've been better in print version. I might have been more interested in it that way,

What does Pearl Hewitt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like how she gets into the seriousness of the situation her voice becomes more louder or more serious, etc... I would listen to this narrator again.

    Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

    Story
"Another fun and murderous trip to Oxford!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Expertly narrated (one again!!!) by Pearl Hewitt. Ms. Hewitt does an excellent job with all of the characters voices.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that it involved Seth, and we were able to learn more about him and the ins and outs of the university.

    Which scene was your favorite?

So many to choose from, I would have to say when Gemma was sneaking around Oxford. I kept waiting for her to get called out. :-)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It didn't make me cry, but it did make me laugh out loud several times. I like my murder mysteries light, and HY Hanna is an expert and producing light-hearted, but suspenseful, cozy mysteries.

    Any additional comments?

Please continue publishing the Audible versions of these stories! :-)
