Publisher's Summary

The charges: explosive.

Alex Cross has never been on the wrong side of the law - until now. Charged with gunning down followers of his nemesis Gary Soneji in cold blood, Cross is being turned into the poster child for trigger-happy cops who think they're above the law. Cross knows it was self-defense. But will a jury see it that way?

The evidence: shocking.

As Cross fights for his professional life and his freedom, his former partner, John Sampson, brings him a gruesome, titillating video tied to the mysterious disappearances of several young girls. Despite his suspension from the department, Cross can't say no to Sampson. The illicit investigation leads them to the darkest corners of the Internet, where murder is just another form of entertainment.

The People vs. Alex Cross: the trial of the century.

As the prosecution presents its case and the nation watches, even those closest to Cross begin to doubt his innocence. If he can't convince his own family that he didn't pull the trigger with intent to kill, how can he hope to persuade a jury? But even with everything on the line, Cross will do whatever it takes to stop a dangerous criminal...even if he can't save himself.

A Winner

I've had the pleasure of listening to a few of the Alex Cross books on audio and I always enjoy them, this book was no different. I found the narrator a bit hard to adjust to in the beginning, but I was so enthralled in the story lines that my initial concern quickly dissipated. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and would recommend it to those who have followed the Alex Cross series.

Not the usual excitement.

I usually love Alex Cross books by James Patterson but sadly this one fell very short. First if you don’t buy the “book shot” published earlier this year you will immediately be thinking you missed the last book because the story flows from the “book shot” not the last novel. This is obnoxious in my opinion because why do I have e to pay for little snippets of the story when I buy every novel? Second, this story is nothing more than a recirculated story line with a few new twists which are frankly boring. Lastly, I think Mr. Patterson has let to many story lines with to many different authors get in the way of his once compelling writing. Such a major disappointment.

He does it again!!!

Incredible book. Patterson never fails us with Dr. Crosses exploits. Was taken aback due to the voice change but it transitioned well.

An overall great read

The only hiccup for me was the pronunciation of Gary's name. There needs to be a consensus between all the novels. This was the only one on which the reader pronounced it differently, it was a bit distracting.

“Innocent as charged” Alex Cross

This Alex Cross storyline was filled with tosses and turns to hold the interest of the listener. I liked the narrator but not for this book. The cadence, tone and attitude of the voices were excellent, but did not sound like the characters I have grown to love.

Best one!

I enjoyed this book so much, it’s an attention grabber, Hard to put it down.
Not all that crazy cursing F-this F-that, and so on, in almost every sentence, just a really great book and story line.(but, It does have cursing), but not off the chain...
Good Job!
