Great Story

Great story and as always outstanding narration by the man RC Bray. I can see this being a movie.

Bought because of RC Bray

Bought because of RC Bray. Nearly broke down in tears because of the ending.
Full disclosure... I am a professional aviator with over 13,000 hrs under my belt. That said I don't normally like aviation related fiction. I usually grit my teeth at liberties taken in such stories to increase the drama factor. I only rolled my eyes once or twice in this story. That is a great credit to the author. The aviation side of the story was descent.
This story has lots of character driven drama outside of the flying which is again a credit to the author.
No spoilers here but the ending had me fighting to hold back the tears. Again a credit to the author who painted a landscape and a cathartic vision and ending. I hope heaven is as grand.
Well done.
Btw RC Bray is a master craftsman.

I enjoyed the listen. Felt a little disjointed but it held my attention.

Fun listen. I think I kind of missed the purpose of the story. I think I would have ended it differently, but it was fun to listen to, I love good flight stories.

A blast from the past

As a former warrant officer and medivac pilot the detail is amazing. Just a great story with a wonderful ending.

Excellent!

This is about as close as a novel can get to what helicopter rescue is all about. Written by somebody who had obviously been there and done that. I spent a 27 year Air Force career mostly in Air Force Rescue starting with SB17's and ending with HH-3's and could find no mistakes in his description of helicopter operations.

If John Rambo were a legendary helicopter Pilot... he’d be Gil Conner!

Overall good story, very believable... if hero has genuine and authentic...though I thought the initial way he was going to handle his health misfortune actually was a bit hard to see as as plausible... someone who spends any credit and praise they earn with superiors, selflessly advancing the well being of others, regardless of personal sacrifice, though they may contemplate what Conner was planning... I don’t think they act on it... but I’m not a shrink... just felt like it didn’t fit... was heavy on tedious details... that was the only distraction listening but the narration of RC Bray at speed 1.3 is sensational... over all 4.5 stars...

Keeps you listening! Great story!

Great random choice for me! Loved all the detail that was provided here. I still wonder about the special little girl. Was she an Angel? Could have developed that story line just a little more. Loved this audiobook!
