Publisher's Summary

Number one New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Sandra Brown delivers her trademark nonstop suspense and supercharged sexual tension in this thriller about tainted heroism, cold fury, and vengeance without mercy.

Kerra Bailey is a television journalist on the rise, and she's hot on the trail of a story guaranteed to skyrocket her career to even greater heights: an interview with the legendary Major Trapper. Twenty-five years ago, the major emerged a hero from the bombing of the Pegasus Hotel in downtown Dallas when he was photographed leading a handful of survivors out of the collapsing building. The iconic picture transformed him into a beloved national icon, in constant demand for speeches and interviews - until he suddenly dropped out of the public eye, shunning all members of the media. However, Kerra is willing to use any means necessary to get to the major - even if she has to wrangle an introduction from his estranged son, former ATF agent John Trapper.

Still seething over his break with both the ATF and his father, John Trapper wants no association with the hotel bombing or his hero father and spurns the meddling reporters determined to drag them back into the limelight. Yet Kerra's sheer audacity and tantalizing hints that there's more to the story rouse Trapper's interest despite himself. And when her interview of a lifetime goes catastrophically awry - with unknown assailants targeting not only the major but also Kerra - Trapper realizes he needs her under wraps if he's going to track down the gunmen before they strike again...as well as discover, finally, who was responsible for the Pegasus bombing.

Kerra is wary of a man so charming one moment and dangerous the next, and she knows Trapper is withholding evidence collected during his ATF investigation into the bombing. But having no one else to trust and enemies lurking closer than they know, Kerra and Trapper join forces and risk their very lives to expose a sinuous network of lies and conspiracy running deep through Texas - and uncover who would want a national hero dead.

    "Great Book"

I really enjoy Sandra Browns writing style! I've read them all and even though they are all mystery/romance, I don't feel like they plots are repetitive! She keeps coming up with new material that is believable, entertaining, and well narrated. She is a skilled writer that structures her stories to continue to unfold but carry details throughout that leave the reader in awe.

    "Welcome Back Victor"
Where does Seeing Red rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm a long time fan of author and she never disappoints. She has mystery with a twist which is her signature writing, but since she started as a core romance writer, Ms Brown can add some sizzle in just a few words or scenes. (Do Not miss Mean Streak, reader Jonathan Davis, wow!)

What did you like best about this story?

If you liked author's short novel Prime time, this is on steroids!!

Which character – as performed by Victor Slezak – was your favorite?

I have all of Mr Slezak's Sandra Brown's reads. He brings the best out of all the characters as he interprets author so well. He adds so much to her writing.
My fave is White Hot unabridged if you can find it. Smoke Screen, and Lethal.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I always love the moment of truth that Ms Brown includes in each of her mystery novel. This book was worth the year long wait.

    Any additional comments?

note: I do use the new 1.25x speed to match the author's intent.
    I hope this was helpful?

    "Disappointing narration"

Sandra Brown is a favorite author and I enjoy reading & listening to her books. The narrator has a pleasant voice and does a fair job of reading; however, there is very little distinction between characters. If I hadn't already read the book, I wouldn't know who was supposed to be talking-- this makes the story difficult to follow. Liked the book. Disappointing narrator. Read it instead.

Again I am on the edge of my seat until the very end. without giving away the plot you may think you know who is behind the killings but you will be wrong.
